Searching for Gold, Columbian Gold

Day 24 of flowering on my 1st re-grow of 3 Landrace Colombian Gold and a single Blue Widow feminized plants...The goal, to amber out this grow to achieve more of a couch lock w/strain or inhance the small percentage of indica in both strains for better pain control...

Finished up the 72 hour rinse, ppms b4 boost was 23ppms, PH at 5.2...Added 2tsp/gal. of Flora Bloom, 1.5 tsp/gal. Flora Micro, 1tsp/gal. of Calmag+ in the rez-box.....Ppms jump to 987, PH drifted down to 5.3, adjusted to 5.5.....

Burning +1200watts of CFLs; Count at: five-105watts, four-65watts, four-55watts, two-42watts, (five dual 23watts, mixed spectrum 2700k & 6500k) +90,000 lumen

I like showing off my CFLs when the mood strikes me

Looking great homey and I must say I'm liking you cfl grow.

Peace.
Thanks, I never used a MH/HPS yet, but plan to on the next new grow w/NL#5 and few other strains....waiting for this one to wrap up....don't think I'll try a 2nd round of a re-grow but have read some growers have done re-grows a dozen times over. I can see that happening w/hydro or aero-hydro, don't know how growing in organic soil or co-co would turn out. Even w/mh/hps lite set-up, I'd still be using cfls w/them. I'm believer in all the lights you can give them...

Thanks DarthD3vl, when my gals are in flowering stage I move the cfls around each day and I as close as I can get.....it's my way of getting better light penatration and the sun never shines exactly the same each day, so why should the cfls?

I've seen quite a few good grows on here with cfls but I'll have to agree with Darth that yours is one of the best I've seen. I used to use them for veg only until I switched to T5's. To be totally honest I couldn't tell much of difference between the two except I got better coverage with the T5's. Can't wait to see you move on up to MH/HPS. Your grow room ought to be rockin when you make the switch. On a side note you can keep on using the cfls for great side lighting when you make the switch. You'll just have to make sure you got some good ventilation.

Peace.

Hey bro

I’ve already prepped an area in my laundry/furnace room last year. I actually used it for my 1st cuttings way back in 2010, but I used potting soil w/slow time-release ferts/nutes and the gals did very poorly, so I abandoned the grow. I have everything I need except the hps set-up and exhaust set-up, which I can exhaust 100% to the outside w/carbon filter...In my existing grow closet I’d like to hang a couple T-5's vertically on 3 walls and use six to eight 85watts, 6500k CFLs for above, it will be my clone/vegetation area. Flowering room I’d use a 400watt hps w/hood and every 2700k-3000k CFL I could muster up to place in and out of the cola stems/tops. If you ever compare heat from the larger CFLs, like a 105watts down to 65watts, they burn nearly 50% cooler than the 23watters. I can lay my arm on the 105watter, but burn my arm on a 23watter...
Also I already have the spare res-pump, air pump, air stones, sprayers, tubing and allot of totes for grow-boxes and res.box, so I can have 2 separate aero-hydro grow set-ups running.....but I need to wait until this Fall to do it or have a few grow-boxes ready to go into flowering and into the new area by October 2011, so the earliest I be able to germinate any new seeds is in September. However I will be doing a new grow from seed to harvest between that lag time by using the closet again.
I still have 3 feminized Red Dragon seeds and 8-10 regular Bubble-delicious seeds I’ll be germinating after this re-grow is harvested. As far as another re-grow?, maybe to just get a few cuttings of Blue Widow and L.C. Gold to finally momma them out in sterile soil, which that was the plan for this current re-grow, but those gals got so damn bushy, looking so healthy I could not control myself, I’m ashamed, that’s right I’m guilty, yes in-deed, but I’m gonna end up w/at least 15 more pint-jars of cured sticky, sweet tasting, awesome buzz, Grade A bud once again, besides I have an apprentice grower in training right now, plans are already in the making to teach her a few new lesson or two and I’m not talking about growing my Bros...lol....:hump:

Day 28 of flowering of re-grow #1. Trichomes production is coming along nicely, also nice cola development... another 5 days b4 switching to 08/16 light schedule, a first for me.....I have read some growers will even go to 05/19 lite scdle, but I think it would slow down growth, however I'm in no hurry to reach harvest day.....I'll further research it some more.

Gave 1/3 reccomended boost of botanicare pure blend supplement, it's suppose to inhance bud fattening, cola growth, ect... Wait and see on that, but now it's in the rez...

Hey man just saw you had this. I'm subscribed, things look great!
Thanks upthearsenal, yeah I call it my re-grow #1. I re-generated the 3 landrace colombian gold and blue widow in Jan.... They are the same plants since I seeded back in fall 2010. They have been so trouble free to grow the 1st run I thought; Why not? I was going to take cuttings and momma them out, but they did so well w/the re-grow, had to flower them out again....

Thanks, hope your 420 day was I nice as mine.....

Day 36 of flowering..... the gals are now on the 12/12 light schedule this past week, they appear to be filling in abit and more trichome production I think they like that extra 2 hours/day of light.... Still burning 1280watts, 82,000 lumen....

Thanks Timmahh, I do think they look alittle more mature than the 1st round back in 2010..... at least more color. Entire house smells like the Gold during the day and the Blue at lights out until lights on again the next day...

I have heard and read that on clones or regrows, it my take a little more time for the gals to finish out..... I can see that they do have a ways to go, perhaps another 4-5 weeks, especially in the fattening dept.... Still plan to switch to a 08/16 light schedule when I get a good sign of trics starting to cloud up..... thanks again for stopping by Timmahh bongsmilie

Looks awesome man. Don't think I mentioned it but I'm Colombian myself, spent ten years in Bogota... either way, I was very young at the time so I never saw any weed or anything over there, and I'm probably too young to even have been smoking age when the Gold was prevalent.. anyways, are you thinking or re-vegging the Gold? Maybe even start a breeding project? ;)
