Can I use Distilled water without manipulating pH?

Go to your grocery store, buy a gallon of distilled water, test it, it'll be 7.0
if it's not, then your device is broken, or you cant read your test strips if you use that garbage.

Again, distilled water is not always at pH 7, because of the fact that there is carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Distilled Water has a PH of 7.0

Your plants [if in soil] will thrive when watered with 6.4-6.8 water.

Anything above or below that puts the plant at risk of nutrient lockout.

You apparently know very little about nutrient availability or how the plants and soil itself is able to affect that.

and its actually not inconsistent as i stated previously its almost always 5.5, but sometimes as low as the high 4's....almost never higher than 6....and I test every bottle

I am not disputing that distilled water IMMEDIATELY after distil;ing is PH 7 but you NEVER see that water in a bottle in a STORE until it has dropped to about 5.5

Depends mainly on the concentration of CO2 in the air (reaches an equilibrium), but if it was freshly distilled and sealed up tight it will be closer to 7.

Distilled water is NOT PH 7 it is usually more like 5

if you let it sit out for days and allow the water to agitate with c02 in the air and buffer down. Fresh, store bought, distilled water is 7.

Thanks for the IDIOT comment it just shows me who you really are.....and I dont use a meter, i use drops for my (grow) water tests......strips definitely arent garbage they are actually one of the most accurate ways to test haz material ph that is almost NEVER clear in color, so drops arent ideal.....meters require constant calibration so are inefficient at best. Again I will say I have lots of experience in PH testing, neutralization, and reagent water testing with strips, meters, titration and drops....not tooting my horn but letting you know I know what Im saying

Thanks I apologize for not wording a few posts differently, we can put this behind us and continue on the board, I just didnt want any nubes assuming all distilled is PH 7 and then water their crop with some way acidic shit, its all good

Wow, guys. FYI I bought some distilled Western Family Distilled water the other day several gallons worth to be exact. I tested it with hot tub test strips, my koi pond ph dropper test, and another dropper solution test. All 3 tested 7. The water out of the machine that you refill your jugs with tests about 5, it says drinking water on the machine, so not for sure on the total specifics of the whole water unless I run into the guy who changes the filters. PPM for the distilled as should 0, forgot the amount from the machine, will test again when I refill. My tap is 8.5 50-60 PPM with chlorine and chloromine. After sitting over night PPM stays a steady 50, I assume from chlorine evaporation.
