Finished all the drywall in the garage. I got my room built 5x5x8. I got rid of the 1000 watt and am going with 2 600 watters this time. They will be air cooled and I will also ne running a portable ac unit once it gets a little hotter. I just germed the seeds in a paper towel and have now pit them in soil. I'll update once they have sprouted. Stay tuned and if your interested in the strains you should definitely subscribe.

So far 1 chocolope and 1 exile has sprouted. hoping that I can get at least 5 more to sprout soon. I used the paper towel and the plant is dirt method.

Currently under a 125 watt CFL. Will up to 600 watt hps as soon as seedlings can take it. It is a dimable ballast afterallsomaybe sooner than later.

Garages are great places to grow. I'm thinking this setup will be pretty sweet when it's done.

I've never seen a ballast running two 600w lamps before...although it makes perfect sense, being that it's 240v, hmmm. I assume it dims both bulbs by the same amount, yes?

Are all those strains from seed? including the Blue Dream? Riot seeds, S1?

This grow looks very promising, keep it up

Damn my bad. Blue widow. Not blue dream. Been drinking tonight haha. All of the strains are from seed. I lost two so far. White widow and 1 exile. Everything else is good to go.
Yeah this garage is now my "man rage" just put all ressed lighting and finished all the drywall. Ran cable to my 50" plasma. All I'm missing is my kegorator.

New Update.
April 5th here is what they looked like.
007.jpg

And today they are looking much larger.
I cant wait untill i can clone them and sex them. Is that the best way to go? Take a few clones and then put the clones under 12/12 to see if the plants are male/female? How does everyone else do it? Do you all wait for pre-flowers?
029.jpg028.jpg
They are now under the 600watt hps (if they look a little yellow thats why). I still need to buy one more hood and one more bulb so i can run both 600's through this grow.

Lookin good, grouch!

You can do the cloning/sexing any way you want. Often I've read here on riu of growers taking cuts off their first generation plants shortly after switching them to 12/12. I think you can even take cuttings after the plants start to show sex (maybe 2-3 weeks into 12/12)...since the cuttings should revert back to vegetative growth while rooting under 18/6 light schedule. If you do it this way, you might be able to shave off of few weeks from the time you'll have to wait until your first harvest...and with a little luck, the rooted and vegged clones (second generation) would be ready to go into 12/12 right around the time that your first-generation plants will be ready to be chopped. Then just repeat the cycle with the second generation plants to get your third generation, etc, etc...for an uninterrupted supply of buds.

Often the timing/method of cloning/flowering will be dictated by the individual grower's personal needs...and experimenting with different methods is half the fun (and challenge) of growing your own mj.

Your Barney's TD seeds are feminized, right? And I guess the Chocolope are regular...or are they fem too?

I'm really interested in your results for the TD - since I purchased a pack when they first came out on the Attitude site. I may very well purchase a pack of Chocolope at some point in the future, but I'm waiting for Attitude to get the regular version in stock.

Thats actually a great idea. I will take clones right after they show sex in 12/12. Tangerine dream is Fem (I hear fems herm to much) and the Chocolopes are regular. I really want to see how the Chocolopes turn out. I did a bunch of research on them and they were my first pick for seeds.

Yeah, I agree, that Chocolope sounds really good. If only I didn't already have so many beans. It's getting hard to justify adding to my "collection" until I make some more room for growing.

I guess I'll just live vicariously through this thread for now. Would be very interested in reading a smoke report when you harvest your first buds.

Nice big update.
Transplanted 4/17.
Giving the kids nothing but phed down water, nitrozyme, silica blast and cal mag. I will continue to give them this set of nutes for another 2 weeks. FFOF as we all know is a little hot and i do not want them burning up.

Here are pics of transplant day.

Here is a couple pics of tonight.

This is a pic of the chocolope. I cant wait until i can sex them. I just hope that i get atleast one female of each of the strains.
I am running REALLY hot temps in the room the last couple of days. 86-90. I am going to fill my C02 on weds and i think with that running i will be ok until i can afford my portible AC unit. They dont look like they are suffering at all from the temps however, i just do not want to take any chances. Enjoy guys.

Temps outside are down under 70 for the week. This should be better for them and cause less stress. I'm still going to go fill my c02 tp give them that added boost

Made my room fully sealed. Air is now running from one end of the cealing to the other end of the cealing completely sealed. I added the C02 and it is set to go off 15mins for every hour the lights are on. Ill post a few updated pics later tonight.
Any thoughts?

WOW! I open up my grow room door to madness. The damn inline fan fell off the wall unplugging one of the lights from the ballast and landing on top of one of the plants. The glass from one of the hoods some how fell out and thankfully did not break. That would have been fun cleaning up. =( Thankfully it did not even snap the stem, it just lsted it for me =) Here is a current pic of the grow and of the poor crushed baby.
Whole grow.

Poor thing! I have had fans fall off too but luckily they landed next to the plants! Anyways, can't wait to see the progress!

After about an hour it already looked like it was coming back. How long does everyone think I should Veg these for? I'm approaching 1 month and would really like to weed out the males. Would you wait for preflowers naturally. Or flip them 12/12 and then pull males?

Looking good, grouch. Sorry to hear about that fan falling. I had fans, lights, even shelves fall during my first grow...it sure can get messy. Good thing your plants escaped with only minor injuries.

Four to six weeks seems like the "normal" amount of vegging time for a grow on this scale. If you can't see any preflowers yet, I would recommend vegging a little longer and waiting for signs. Looks like you've got plenty of headroom for more growth (even accounting for the expected stretch early on in 12/12), so it couldn't hurt to let them get a little bigger before you switch the light schedule..

This might be a good time to think about taking some cuttings (if you haven't already). I like to take cuttings early enough that I get a second chance if the strain I'm working with turns out to be difficult to clone. Even if the parent plant turns out to be male, I can always toss the rooted male clone(s), and they don't take up much space (or require much light) while they're still rooting (which will likely take a couple of weeks). I always keep a tupperware tub and a low-wattage fluorescent fixture handy for cloning. I don't even always have a dedicated space for it...with CFLs heat really isn't an issue, so I've been able to root cuttings in a closet and a large cardboard box with no problems. And if stealth isn't a concern, that just makes it even easier.

Of course, if you've successfully cloned plants in the past, then you probably won't need any "practice"...and could wait until they start showing sex (either during veg or in 12/12). But if it's your first time, I'd recommend trying one or two out during veg just to see how it works out. That way, you'll still have another chance later on. Once your buds get past the 3-4 weeks of 12/12, you probly don't wanna be having to take any more cuttings.
