i voted for obama in 08 because i believed his slogan of "change"

i voted for him because he continuously said "no lobbyists, bankers or executives in my cabinet"...then he put the same old crew in charge, plus a bunch of inside others...

i voted for him because he said he'd end all wars...robert gates just announced that obama OK'd the use of predator drones in libya

i voted for him because he said he'd slash spending...in february we had the largest deficit spending in US government history

i voted for him because he talked big-game about ending government subsidizing of industrial agricultural surplus production...

he's full of shit....no, i won't be voting for him in 2012...i won't be voting for any politician. what a pointless thing to do. instead, i'll do everything i can to avoid big business and do everything i can to support myself and my community. no politician gives a shit about protecting you and your community

i avoid big business every day...it's called being self-sustaining. i hardly ever spend money (only on necessities when it's NEEDED)...I don't eat or shop at any chains.

wtf kinda question is that, and what kind of answer were you expecting? lol :?:

I'm I to assume you never visit Wal Mart...When you go to Las Vegas to gamble in the Flamingo who do you think you are supporting ???? dude no way around big business...its part of America interwoven;-)

hmm you got me here...i have no answers, or options...than to support big business often times. that's the problem with trickle-down economics, supplied through unlimited funding by the treasury dept and federal reserve.

just because i dont shop at walmart doesn't mean i don't shop at a chain grocery store for some items, but i prefer quality and quality always seems to suffer under an industrial model of mass production/consumption. i dont really think of my money as "money", i just see it as a constant means of reinvestment in one way or another. i do like the craftsmanship that i think is being restored now

I understood what you meant brother.;-)

Can we completely stay away from big business? Probably, but it would be extremely difficult. That said, I try to avoid big business as well. I don't shop at Wal-Mart. I grow a lot of my own food and can and freeze a lot of my own fruits and veggies. Yes, I have a computer, and yes, I have electricity and internet, but I do the bulk of my shopping at small, family run types of businesses. It can be a bit tricky and it can be a bit more expensive, but I like the customer service I receive at these types of establishments as opposed to the big box store types. If I am not treated like complete shit, I am basically ignored (which I prefer) at those super stores. We may not be able to cut big business from our lives completely but we can avoid them whenever we get the chance. bongsmilie

I have found that the point is not to support big buisiness but to be aware and make real choices. There are big businesses that at least pretend to be socialy concious, and those are the ones I try to steer my business toward. It is a question of tendancies and not absolutes.

I didn't vote in 2008 and I am not going to vote in 2012.

If I were to vote: My vote would be a vote of no confidence.

I am no longer a registered voter anyway.

My wife drags me there, almost kicking and screaming (literally! lol!) once or twice a year. I bitch about it the entire time and she hates it and I obviously fucking hate it.:cuss: She's a lot better than she used to be but she was addicted to Wal-Mart! It is hard to beat their prices and selection but the internet has kind of been a game changer there too.;-)
