Graf... actually I cooked them a little. Either with the new lights or the new nutes. I will take pics in the morning as they are sleeping right now.

I may build a new grow box tomorrow. I so want to take advantage of the new lights I bought. I am thinking about putting the 3 new HPSs behind glass and providing cooling from behind the glass. Do you think it will let me get the lights closer, or will the radiant heat still cook them?

Hell yea bear! I'm still intereste in this post. I started my set up the other day and I'm incorporating some of your ideas to mine. I decided I'm going with the aero set up but also I'm going to pretty much set it up the same as you but only in my cabinet. So keep the info coming bro!!

Major update:

Sorry I was out for a while. Had a major crisis! I almost lost all my plants, and had to quickly design a new box.

The box and the lighting did great for veg and up to about 12". Once the plants grew higher, I put the second storage box under the first one and cut a hole through both of them to all for more room for growth.

Bottom line, the box could not get enough light and air flow to the bottom half of the box and the plants started to die. I am pretty sure one of the plants will not survive. The rest look pretty rough, but I am sure they will recover.

So, I built a new grow box. A major f%cking upgrade. I spent over $400 before it was over, but I was too attacked to the babies to not take care of them right.

I will post picts later, but it is 5' wide, 24" deep and 6' tall. I have 3 150w HPS lights in the top and 2 70w HPSs on the sides. I also have it wired for 5 CLFs on the sides, but will not put those in until I have sex the plants and have a little more space. I do not want to burn them.

They are in their new home for the first time today. I put them in early this morning. I will see how they look when I get home tonight. I think they will be doing great as they have been starved for light for almost a week.

So, lesson learned. Yes you can grow with CFLs but you need more space than I had in my design. I will keep the box for veg, as it did a smoking job, but for flowering, it is the big box.

At least you now have a veg and flowering box! :hump: One thing HID lights have on CFL's is light penetration. HID will penetrate far more than a CFL would.

BTT, I keep hearing this, but I am having a hard time with the physics. It just does not make sense. In either case, I always use side lighting.

I am thrilled to have a new flowering box. Now I can veg and flower at the same time and the new box rocks. Doesn't fit in the house, but it was time do it right. 3 days of work and $400 later, I have a "real" setup.

Now I have to select new seed. The first grow was bag seed. For the next grow I want to go for effect. Something which will kick my ass as hard as possible. Any suggestions?
