What percent of people here still live with their parents? I bet.....................

you guys act like its disgraceful to live with your parents, weather you live with your parents or not you need to grow up. im 25, moved out when i was 18 to go to college, put my life on hold and moved back in at 22, after getting a bachelors in mechanical engineering, to help my parents take care of my disable grandfather after having a stroke for the last year of his life. now I own a house in town and a condo at the beach on the marina. i guarantee im not as rich as a lot of you but i got nothing to be ashamed of even if i did live with my parents as an adult. start thinking about what your saying b4 you talk. there are many reasons for different ppl to do different things and until you have walked in there shoes you don't know what leads to the decisions they make.

There are four generations living in my house, we all help to take care of each other and cover cost for the household and living.

Say what you will about living with your parents but my house is over 4,500 sqft on a 40 acre farm and I live damn good, and so does my daughter, my parents, and my grandmother.

My father and I run a business together and we have one of the closest/strongest families you'd ever meet.

My Dad died in 87. My brother died in 95. I lived in a townhouse in Philly. Then Mom needed a triple BP and 12 months of 24/7 care.
I sold my landscaping biz and took off to take care of Mom. After a year I went back to work and then my sis moved in about six months before Mom died on 4/20/10. (at least I'll never forget the date.) I stayed with her till the end, thats 15 yrs. I don't regret being her primary caregiver. It was hard and I almost lost it a couple times. But now, after a year I can finally breath.
If kids are gonna move back home they should take care of their parents not the other way around.

My sister still lives at home and she's 24. Paying for law school and a place to live wasn't really a financially smart move hence why she's at home. That and she's in the top 15% of her law school; holding down a full time job to pay for rent and food would make her life a living hell. I personally wouldn't consider her a loser. From the way you present yourself however, that's another story.

Got to LOVE it. I think this is the way it is supposed to be. Where did we get the idea that as soon as we hit 17 or 18 we needed to get out.

Work togethor, take care of your parents when they get old, just the way they took care of you when you were incapable of doing it.

To many parents sadly get shipped off to nursing homes the second something happens to them. Totally disgraceful.

I agree there is a place for nursing homes, both my grandmothers ended up with severe dimenta.

Now my Dad had a stroke and we take care of him at home, my Mom being primary, and I am about 15 mins away.

My brother, Mom and I run the farm and see each other multiple times per day.

Dude. I fucking wish. Three delicious cooked meals everyday and a mountain of food in the fridge? Jackpot. I eat from restaurants two times a day. Nothing is as good as grandmas food though.

You've never met my mom...lol She calls me to tell me she misses me. I never call her. I left home, and never looked back. Parents do some fucked up shit to their kids man.

Hawaii. I think it costs more to live in Hawaii than in Florida. And I pay RENT because I live at home. And half the electric bill :leaf:

Well anyone that still lives with their parents, as long as they are helping ,financial ,medical or what have you, it's a good decision in these times. just be sure that you aren't a burden and try to save for the future. parents will mostly help you as long as you are willing to help yourself...............

it took me 2 tries to get out of my mom's. i made some pretty shitty financial and roomate descisions being so young, but i finally made it at the age of 22. no big deal. i know a few people who unfortunately had to move back in with their parents because of the economy. they're not losers, they just hit a rough patch. it happens sometimes. the younger you are when it happens the less of a safety net you are likely to have. the older you are the more you have to lose so you fall a little harder. it's not easy for anyone to have to move back home. and i think it's nice that some of the posters live with their families. if you have the space to have some privacy, the more the merrier. that's the way it was in the old days and they worked it out ok. i could be wrong but i think that the average 40 year old man in italy still lives at home unless he's married. it's just the culture. it doesn't automatically make someone a loser.

I don't live at home anymore but I wouldn't mind it if I ended up back there.

Plus, there's a big difference between living with your parents and mooching off your parents.
