a strike was never threatened..the owners locked out the players...the players were perfectly fine with continuing to play under the current deal..the owners want a bigger piece of the tv revenue...that is why the players sued the owners..the players who have contracts with teams were locked out ..basicly the owners were not honoring the deals they signed with the players, thankfully the courts told the owners to fuck off and honor those deals...pretty much the 32 owners got together and said they are 32 separate entities which is bullshit.

No, the players wanted bigger contracts, and told the owners to open their books to inspection to see if there were openings for bigger contracts. The owners said no, and locked them out.
It's all a big clusterfuck of greed, and deception. I hate them all!

I'd rather a manly sport please :) and big clusterfuck of greed, these players don't deserve bugger all, few hundred K a year is more than they deserve for ponsing around in lots of body armour. I can't beleive they went to court becaue they were pissed they didn't get their way. If an employee told me that the company was earning lots and he demanded a pay rise as a result, i'd tell him to fuck off his contract is his contract and he has no authority to be able to re-negoatiate it against the bosses desire. fucking lawyers.

There's the problem. LOL Then after the owners threatened to lock out the union the union rep tried to decertify the union, or disband it so they couldn't be locked out. Yeah, the judge took offense with that. Said that unions can, and will not decertify when it suits them.

wrong again, the players collectively bargained the last deal that expired, the players voted to keep that contract and change nothing and continue to play..the owners said no, said you take less money than last contract..the players said " if you want us to take a pay cut..open the books.." the owners said fuck off..and locked them out... the owners do not want to open the books, and as far as comparing you and your boss to nfl players and owners..well that is just silly..the nfl product is the player...the product of other businesses is not in any business a person who pretty much gets into a car accident every sunday and uses the off season to heal up,get surgically repaired to repeat that process again next season.

How can he be the product if he's receiving a salary? He works for them He is a contractually tied down employee. He may be a cheif reason for money coming in but he's still an employee. That's like saying people who work in circuses, they are not employees, they are products. No, they sign contracts and conform to employment laws just like the rest of us. They are also fully aware what they are signing up for, or am i meant to believe that they sign a contract thinking they get a silly large amount of money for not doing anything? no, theyt know they're gonna be hitting the floor here and there. But of course, this is the modern world where people are not equal, we are pathetic, they are celebrities and sports stars, they are better than you, they aren't employees and bosses, they are gods!

If they are indeed products and not employyes, how do they have any legal rights. They are just objects to be used however the company feels like it and for whatever price the company feels like.

i dunno about all that .. i would not care if they were all mutes ..i watch for entertainment and prefer to not hear players speak about anything even their own sport, but if you want to worship them do your thing man.. football contracts are not guarenteed..a player may sign a 6 year 66 million dollar deal..but the team can cut him anytime and the contract is worthless..the only money in football that is guaranteed is the signing bonus..so owners have it much better than the players...not to mention that i could put a list of 32 other rich fucks to split that revenue with the players..the owners are easily replaceable the players are not..you are watching the best 1000 guys on the planet..a circus employee??? lmao you could replace any clown or retard in the circus in the blink of an eye..go try to find replacements for the professional football players without the product suffering. what you should be pissed about is nfl billionaire owners using public money to build their stadiums.

a company may sell oranges or socket wrenches whatever...their employees make the product, market it sell it...the nfl owners make nothing their product is the players so it is insane to try to compare you and your boss to the nfl

See! You just contradicted yourself! First the product is the players. Now you can't replace players without "the product suffering?"

So what is the product again? The players, or the game?
