if it's just 1 or 2 flourescent light tubes then that wont do anything. It may get one plant through a few weeks of crappy vegetative growth but you wont be able to flower anything with that light. The more light=more growth=more buds (and denser buds)

ive done some research and find myself leaning towards compact or a t5 flourescent grow light. I believe that it will be able to produce good bud for the one plant that i have that wont be any taller than 2 feet. Is this a good choice and which one would u choose. Once out on my own i will get a MH light

Sorry man, no experience with the cfl's or the fluorescent. Either way once you get your H.I.D. you can use your other light to make clones. Good luck!

for a two foot plant you would probably need at least 100 w of cfl's but I'd say get more like 200-300 watts

Look! don't belive Mr, j2. Unfortunately he is quite mistaken. I am currently in my 14th day of flowering under 6 40w cool white tubed flourescents! So don't think it's impossible, please. xheck the pics out. Sure it does take longer, I won't deny that, but actually for vegging, FLOURESCENTS WORK GREAT! It's in an unheated basement, in an unused closet the deumidifiers exhaust heats the room (it's 75 degrees F). 3 4 foot tubed flourescent fixtures running off ONE extension with a timer. I use molasses and a cheap-ass c02 (sugar/yeast setup)

growins growin, doesnt have to be all high tech...its best not to go out and spend tons of money on grow crap if uve never grown...takes time trial and error...some folks dont have a greenthumb...i do agree though more light the better i use 400 watt mh 600 watt hps for veg and flower....all im saying is u dont need it to grow alittle for yourself and not give the dealer all your money for shit...use it to buy more grow stuff...

Gotta disagree, don't add.....Go BIG! Figure out the size of your grow. (sf?) And multiply that by 35. That is how many watts you will need to flower your plants, this is the minimum wattage. I recomend more for flowering but you can get away with 35w psf.
I use a 400w in my closet and a 1000w for my flower.

Buy a 400w for $170.00 1 bag of Happy frog $15.00 Pots???? And your good for your veg. Buy your nutes for flower and your golden!!! Don't forget to flush!
