Chopdown day is when the fun begins. Its grinding up the last little nug and putting in my bowl thats painful.. I havent had my first chopdown yet, though, so we shall see. 3 weeks into flower and its like watching paint dry.
Eventually chop down day is just WORK lol. Still fun though :D

Thanks Tragik and Min, that analogy helps out a lot. It just looks like people top their plants when they LST good and have like 4-8 colas. I plan on doing this to my two babes once they reach that point.
I've never topped a plant, nothing against it but I like to stress them as lil as possible. Training can provide you with as many tops as you want and that's the fun in it. I start training after my first transplant. I put the plant in it's new pot at an angle so the first tie don isnt too hard on them. Like I said, no right or wrong way. You will find out what works best for you. Once you LST two things will happen 1. you'll ask yourself why you didnt do it sooner. 2. you'll tell yourself you won't ever go back to the old way.

That pic was taken shortly after I bent it all over. Canopy management is what happened. There was about 12 branches that developed in to good size colas.
I get canopy management, how long was your veg on that one?

Edit, not trying to talk shit, Im just wondering why it seems like she has so many branches, but so few tops, thats all.

Tonight I will take an updated pic and you can see what it currently looks like from below. I believe there was originally 22 or so branches. And around 8 or 9 weeks I let veg another 2 weeks after I bent it around the bucket to get over the shock and put down some more roots.

Any way of lowering the circle so you dont have to veg as long to get the same effect?

Either way, she looks real good, gonna be some heavy smoke for sure ;)

she's got buds all over lol.... Honestly she has surpassed all of my wildest expectations, and she's only about 65% flowered :)

From here on out, will the buds just continue to fatten up?
And I know this is really hard to answer, but what are you thinking I'll yield off this lady, billcollector?

IMO she looks like a 12 week strain, so you are about 40 % of the way ;) And yes she will fatten up. You giving her bloom nutes?

Im not giving you any guarantees but i think a half oz is an underestimate of your yield. Ive seen more come from less in the past.

4 Nirvana Ice in .8 gallon air pots with a 2ft bamboo shoot through each one for LST (along with a Beef Steak tomato in a 2 gallon, and some bean plants in the tiny things)

Mix: FF ocean forest, FF light warrior, FF original planting mix, Black Gold, Happy Frog Tomato/Veg additive, Mykos & Azos, Dolomite Lime, Perlite,

Light: 395w (252 3w diodes run on average of 1.52w with 12w of fans) 12 spectrum with 90 degree lens angles

Explanation: The 2 biggest plants were above ground in a PC grow box (4x24w CFL) for 8 and 5 days respectively. The 2 smallest plants went straight under the LED at 2ft when they popped. The plant on the bottom left I broke the last 4 inches off of last week, and the 2 smaller plants are stunted because they didn't have any time to grow supporting leaves before going under the LED. My plants were all suffering from growing way too many nodes close together too quickly and so at 1 month the smaller plants were smaller than 1 month 400w HID plants (but had way more nodes). While I'm sure this was an issue with having such a powerful light only 2ft from seedlings, I totally forgot about the Azos and Mykos I added.

Basically uber LED + Mykos and Azos = too many nodes!!!!! I don't think I started any LST until the 3rd week, and then only on the biggest one. I learned a lesson, now I basically need to be sure that I give my seedlings 1-2 weeks under CFL before going under the LED. Too much PAR and too many helpful microbuggers made it so easy for the plants to grow new nodes that so many were growing that the leaves grew in size very slowly (but they are definitely getting up to speed now, especially the big one!). Oh and there was probably a little too much N in the soil from stuff

PS: The biggest plant has been out of the first for 40 days now

first time grow.. so first time LST try.
AK48 fem about 3 weeks from seed..
under my 24w t5 about 2"-3" from the top .. i'll have her under my 250w MH conversion bulb tomorrow.

just curious as to what the experienced ones out there think of my 1st attempt. i have the base anchored with some knitting yarn and i pinned down the stem in the best spot possible with some plastic coated wire i came across. basically just bent a nice 'U' and went down about an inch into my hydroton. seems pretty sturdy.

any comments, pointers or info would be greatly appreciated! thanx in advance!!

I wouldn't ever tie a knot around a stem like that, not worth any risk when its so easy to not to:) Otherwise it looks great!
