I am stoked, I am getting dirt put in my second planting bed. What should I plant in them? I already have enough peppers and tomatoes, so I am at a loss as to what to put in them?

heres a few easy plants to grow and they taste good.
peas.
squash.
zuchini.
cucumbers.
lemon cucumbers ( my favorite)
water melons.
cantoluope.
radishes.
carrots.
onion.
potato.
lettuce.
strawberries.
corn.
sunflower.
artichoke.
green beans.

i know some of these you have already i was just making a simple list.

maybe some cilantro if you make your own salsa. i am going to be making my own salsa this year for the 1st time

I really want lettuce. If I could I would have the whole second bed of just lettuce but I can't seem to start lettuce seeds for the life of me.If I can find a good place to buy starts that would be good, but would get expensive replacing starts every time I harvest a head. I need to get better at starting from seed.

for lettuce i just plant them into the ground. and keep moist. i did start some inside this year but it was unnecessary. i planted more seeds last week and they are popped up. i say throw a couple of seeds out theri and let them do theri thing. and you dont have to replace lettuce once harvested, you can harvest the lettuce and leave the rest of the plant to continue to grow and in about 2 weeks their will be more.

what is the pepper plant in the 1st pic. it looks like no pepper ive seen so im curious. and the plants look to be doing very well. i see you have a BB plant. i had one last year but i did not know they are acid lovers and was giving water at a ph of 7 and it died fairly quick

That is a Thai Chili that is going nuts. It already has at least a dozen fruits growing already and full of flowers as you can see.

I went home for lunch and snapped a bunch of photos, so here is a showcase for some particularly good plants.

First of all, here is the new planting bed ready to go. This weekend I will hit up to good local nurseries and see what I can fill them up with!

Yeah, those things will be spitting out peppers until it freezes.

I went to a couple nurseries this morning and bought some goodies for the garden. First I bought some stuff called Moon Juice (from a place called Moon Valley) that is sort of like superthrive in that it has vitamins and such but no actual fertilizer. To cover that base and going back to organic, I bought some Fish and kelp fertilizer. It is a bit nitrogen heavy for fruiting/flowering plants, but I am sure the plants will absolutely love it. I feel bad for my planting bed plants. I figured the compost that they are in had nutrients in it so didn't feed them anything. After a month of the plants just sort of surviving, I fed them a few days ago and it is absolutely amazing how much different they look. All plants have grown noticeably, the leaves have turned a richer green, and the garden all-around looks happier. Learned my lesson.

Also today I bough plants for the second bed. The first planting bed is filled with all Hope Depot plants, and the second bed is now filled with all plants form local nurseries. I will probably forget some, but this is what I bought:

Tomatoes:
Celebration, Boxcar Willie, Juliet, Mortgage Maker, and something else

Peppers:
Thai Dragon, Black Hungarian, Red Caribbean, Yellow Jamaican, and a few others

Cucumber, Okra, Squash, and a few other veggies.

All are planted now and were watered thoroughly with Moon juice and then the Fish and Kelp juice and boy is that Fish and Kelp shit smelly! I will take pictures this evening and show you all what's up tomorrow!
