We Shut the Plant Down

Man me and some guys were smoking a joint today up in the powerhouse where i was working we were up inside the boiler passing it back and forth when someone dropped it and it fell through the scaffolding almost 100 feet and landed at the feet of the supervisor's. What luck needless to say we all scattered but the gates were locked and everyone was drug tested before they could leave or resume work. I felt terrible even though i didn't drop it but some people lost thier jobs today. We aren't the only ones doing shit but we were the ones who dropped the shit at the feet of a supervisor....Fuck

Wow. If this is true I have no words to describe how much that bothers me.
I have to agree with Byron, but not for anything clumsy done by the stoners at your plant. The same thing would have happened at my former employer had a J been discovered anywhere. What bothers me, is that in many cases, these same employers will completely overlook someone who's strung out on Oxy, Xanex or any of the string of prescription drugs because 'they're legal' when in reality they're often far more physically and mentally debilitating that marijuana.

I worked on a road crew for a while and we'd take 'safety breaks' with our foreman who always packed a bullet with some mids. He felt it was better to have a relaxed crew than a stressed angry crew when working around morons driving 90mph at night.

Well i pussed out and called in today talked to a buddy of mine at work he said there setting through safety meeting's for three hours today getting lectured about the danger's of marijuana. I can't believe the way people look down on pot compared to some of the prescriptive medicine they have people on in today's world. I work with people who are on Oxy's, Roxy's, and all sorts of shit but their legal. Half of the people lay out drunk all night and come in all hung over and run heavy equipment and work 3-4 hundred feet in the air beside me. I can see not smoking on the job, guess that was bad judgement on my behalf but we need a more accurate test to determine how long it's been since you have smoked if a guy wants to come home and smoke a joint after work before bed he should be able to without fear of losing his job.

For all you medical patients do any of you work in a place where you are required to do regular drug screens. And does it effect your chances of getting a job. I have worked in California once and it is the only job i have ever went to where i wasn't drug screened. Is this the norm. or was it luck. I was at a Cargill plant in San Jose.
