When Will You See Flowers?

So I started flowering about a week ago.... by switching my lights to 12/12 and have most of my plants have not shown any change. Only my autoflower have begun to flower....

:wall:

Any advice for the flowering stage? Such as watering? Lighting? Nutrients? Upkeep? Pruning? And the such....

Any previous post on flowering?

Thanks,

My first girl took 2 weeks to show her first pistols, they'll eventually show.

Mine take about two weeks as well and i give them a 24 hour dark period just before i start flowering. I do keep my lights on 24 hours a day most days in veg. I don't call the point at when i switch my lights to 12/12 flowering in terms of the plant, when i see the first flowers is when i call the start of flowering.

Yep its a waiting game but after the thrid week id be worried, check no light leaks when lights off. Look for the odd random white pistil on new growth and branch junctions.

First off, how old are they? In terms of how long did you Veg for. Are hey from seed or clones? If from see some might be male. I would say 2 weeks and you should be set with some nice hairs popping out everywhere.

If you have autoflower, dose that mean the non autoflowering strains have had a very short veg time too?

Flowers will start forming rather quickly if the plant is mature enough to develop them. This happens at about 25-30 days from seed, or 2 weeks from clone. Depends what you have. You can force them to flower earlier, but they won't do so until they are ready.

Yeah, if you veg them for any decent amount of time you should be seeing a good amount of hairs within about 2 weeks. REAL BUDS will be forming probably around a month, to a month and a week I'd say. Swelling from there I guess is the term you'd use.

When i see the first flower that to me is the start of the flowering period, not when you turn the lights to 12/12. Those two weeks whilst you are waiting to flower should not be called flowering.

Yer it can be strain dependant for flowering and pre flowering times, also i veg 24/0 with the lights on all the time no dark period so it takes longer for my plants to start flowering.

Same here.

I was waiting to see someone else post about 24/0 timespan before asking but do you think it takes more nitrogen for the plant to handle the 24/0 light cycle? It seems my plants are going slightly light green in the leaves instead of more dark green. I use the strength it reads on the back, just wanting to get someone else's opinion on this matter. Waa

The 24/0 light period is because i am lazy, i really think the plants would grow the same rate with 20 hours a day but not 18 hours a day, there is a cut off point to the light period and growth somewhere. It will take more nitrogen but then again it will take more of all the nutes, more light period equals more growth time and more ferts. If you are asking wether it will only use more nitrogen i think the answer is no it will use a proportionate amount of nutes in relationship to its present size. What is the npk of the ferts you are using and what brand are they? Sounds like you need more ferts but thats as long as you are sure you are not overwatering and the pH is ok. Up to you mate as your plants but try one with a slightly stronger dose of ferts, one with a weaker dose of ferts and one with no ferts. This is an easy way to find out what the plants need in terms of ferts if you like experimenting. Best advice is post a thread and ask some real growers. lol. Good luck dude

Its been almost three weeks in 12/12 and still no changes. My auto flowering on the other hand are doing lovely. I would say my plants are around 2 months now and close to 2 feet tall. Not trying to have these monsters die on me....

I not done many different strains, is three weeks a long time? Surely if it dosen't flower after 4 weeks with adequate veg time it would be somthing to worry about? I got a small plant that seems to be taking 3 weeks to flower at the moment but it didn't really get much veg time so can see why it is taking so long, at 4 weeks i would definatly be frustrated though. Maybe it is just a slow strain?

i only just started to get hairs on my 4th week, my plants are on there 5th and 1/2 or something week and still only have hairs but a lot more now. i have a bag seed which is apparently 100% sativa which takes along time to flower, but i think the main cause of my slow flowering period was that i had been using the same nutes which i had been for veg, they had very high nitrogen in them. now i've stopped using them and waiting for some more appropriate flowering nutes to come in the post. hopefully i'll be getting some buds soon (first grow and i'm still learning)

but good luck mate i'm sure they will come along in their own time
