Solidarity is a noble goal but is unrealistic in the natural world in general. OCCASIONALLY, you will find a 100% vote, but it's exceedingly rare and gets more rare the larger the population. SO, it is my opinion that we have to pull together and get it done. BUT, we must have sensible, logical, and CIVIL debate. Not arguing like a bunch of grade-school kids. No idea/measure gets accepted by 100%. It comes down to calmly and rationally sitting down and reaching a compromise. Meaning each side must give up something it holds dear. And the only way to do that successfully is to stay civil and logical. EVEN when attacked.

What I find amusing is his assumptions about others on this board. I spent 6 years fighting for medical cannabis in New Mexico. I worked my ass off for the campaign and we finally did it. The bill that passed was restrictive to the point of absurdity but we got it passed. Now we continue to lobby for changes in the law and it's working. The program is easing up quite a bit and adding more conditions and relaxing a lot of the restrictions. It was hard work and I'm proud of my contribution.
All Ernst has done is spam a forum and ridicule those who don't agree with his batshit crazy ideas.

i just had a similar situation with a neighbor. i have been exceedingly mellow over the last couple months as a result of a perspective change. And i had dealt with this loud, obnoxious neighbor with nothing but kindness and humility. My wife was tripping out b/c that is NOT my nature when confronted but i perservered.
Then, he came into my yard and got loud and obnoxious. Not much, just into the yard off the sidewalk. So i asked him to please quiet down and he cursed me in front of my 11 year old son. i asked again, with a little more harsh tone. To which he replied "F*ck you! It's a free country!" At which point i forcibly and violently removed him from my property. He slept downtown that night.
i guess what i'm saying is that it is only a natural reaction for someone who feels as though he is at home to confront and deal with anyone that tries to disrupt the peace. While there are times that the peace needs to be disrupted, there is a way to go about it. And being confrontational, even while doing so passive-aggressively, is not the best method to achieve your goals. When someone creates a disturbance in my home, they answer to me and the residents of my home.

i'm still at a loss as to why users would so violently attack another user for commenting in a thread that they are BOUND to visit and comment on....whether you agree with them or not.

those of us who are easily startled or of fragile disposition simply don't visit threads about legalization....how bout it?
that way no one has to be all pissy, have an outburst of teenage angst, or ruin the buzz for the rest of us

If you go back in this forum you'll see many months of Ernest creating the same threads over and over again. Sometimes multiple ones in the same day on the same subject, excessive bumping of old threads he started with no new content to add, etc.
I can see why you would think that, many people in this thread doing the things you're talking about started off thinking the exact same things you are. You have to put it into context with his previous threads to understand.
It's not that people object to legalization or people talking about legalization. That's not what's going on. If you go back and read all the threads he started or just wait a week and see all the new spamming of his personal agenda that's about to come, you'll understand. The way people are talking to him comes from the way he treats other people combined with the excessive spamming of the same things over and over again.

I had a poster claim that the data base was compromised on one of my sites so to be sure a members data was safe they needed to follow a link and that site was an attack site.
I don't allow links to commercial stuff on that site. I delete all signatures that have a spam or commercial aspect and man oh man the spammers are consistent.
What stinks about it is i didn't want to even require an email for the members. I wanted people to feel free to hide their details so they would feel better about getting politically active for 2012.
The spammers caused me to enforce email registration but so far that is as far as I have taken it. I simply cull 30 to 50 accounts every 10 days or so and enjoy my back room programming forum with friends.
I'm not sure what format will be the final format so I'm not concerned with popularity. I am experiencing domain ownership for the first time and well.. We have to learn about the reality of cyber wars and such.
It goes in cycles too.. Pharmaceuticals, porn, electronics and the latest is construction equipment? Weird.
All looking for free ad space and a hot google spot.
So we just have to be vigilante. There must be a spammer service and domain info.
At first one could register and post then I had to change that so for a week or three no posts were made. then the valid email spammers started so some place data is kept on what sites do what I assume..
It must make money.. You know getting links from some site or many different sites out there to sell pharmaceuticals rather than having folks go to one site but I am not learning about running web sites so I can provide stealth connections for dubious deeds for free.
Good that you caught it.. You really get a feel for it when you deal with it on your own sites.
