i seriously dont think that alot of people are going to let there cards lapse and go underground. people need there medicine and i dont think they would risk exposure to being legal. the state of colorado has legalized marijuana use for medicinal use. if the governor signs this bill i would like to believe the state is opening themselves up to an extreme amount of lawsuits concerning right to privacy and constitutional rights. i cant simply walk into walgreens and ask the pharmacist for mrs smiths list of medications yet the bill wants to expose every medicinal marijuana user in colorado to the public. hog wash

Hog Wash is right. Who would want to be a CG ? The big centers have won.

The big centers have won is correct. The legislature and the MMC lobbyists have pushed me and everyone I knew 2 years ago out of the CG process. Shame.

Yes, you can still grow your 6 plants is you assign an MMC (yes, the wife and I are both patients)

If someone is only a patient why not let their card expire? Since anything under 2 oz is a petty offense and a $100 fine its still cheaper than paying a doctor and the state. Not to mention they are using that money to fuck with us even more, screw this fiasco its turned into.

I paid 90 bucks to the state and 100 to the doc to get my card. Seems totally worth being able to drive around with my pipe and bag in my pocket and not worrying about it.
If you get your card you can talk someone into growing for you for free weed, also worth the 200 bucks.
The only people who don't need a card are the ones who want to make illegal money of medical marijuana. For everybody else it makes sense to stay legal and keep smoking.
Get jobs ya hippies ;)
If you're going to be a caregiver you're always going to be pissed that dispensary's and drug dealers are making money and you aren't. Do it to help people and stay non profit like you're supposed to be and its all gravy.
I take care of the plants and get to smoke for free, my patients help with my electric bill and the cost of my neuts and get to smoke for almost nothing (this month, they smoke for 35 bucks each) lmao
I'm just happy I can enjoy the herb ;) that's caregiving. You want to be big business, get a permit ;)

Your not looking at the big picture.

It is about privacy. Big Brother will continue to stomp on our rights as long as people take that weak poition.

:peace:, from and old hippie

fire one up i completely understand what you are talking about. my concern is privacy not profit. i am a caregiver and dont even ask a dime from my patients for anything. i provide all services for free. im not sure what state you live in but as of july 1st in colorado if i choose to remain a care giver i must register my grow location with the colorado department of revenue and provide my patients license numbers as well. in addition you have to notify your local police department and building and zoning. the grow site becomes a matter of public record. who knows how many crack heads or crooked officials will have access to my location. regardless of how legal things may be marijuana will always attract a criminal element until its no longer federaly illegal. the big dispensorys can afford a grow facility thats secure, guarded, and can keep tweakers and gang bangers out. all this will surely amount to higher medicine prices and smaller dispensorys going out of business because there minimaly secured facilitys get jacked. small care givers like me and others are completely fucked. if you live in colorado are you ready to let everyone know where your precious ladys are and risk your safety ???

so you're cool with sending money to the state and telling them your address so they can police you, but you don't want anybody to police you? I don't see how more people looking into your business is any worse than the first set, other than there was little threat of the department of health coming a knockin'.
Follow the laws to protect yourself, but we're all here with full knowledge that its federally illegal. I'm sure your doctor mentioned it when you got your card.

No, I'm not. That's why we are moving to California. Colorado laws are getting out of hand.

hell yea I am, and I want to be able to insure it lmao. I'm all about the new clarifications and registration. There's a chance I'll get busted by some higher power, but if they do bust me they'll have to litigate against someone following the rules to a T.
I also don't go over the speed limit.
edit - stoned and forgot to mention ;)
I'd wager your jewelry or liquor store is just as likely if not more likely to be robbed than your grow op. I highly doubt a crimewave is coming because of this bill, but who knows ;)

i have no issues at all paying for a doctor and a license to be compliant or any other expense associated with the cultivation of medical marijuana. prior to the new set of laws my exposure was minimal. cdphe wasnt policing anything other then collecting a license fee. cdphe obided by the constitution and kept all information strictly confidential. cdphe didnt share any info unless a warrant was provided. i do understand that even with all the privacy we had there was still a risk but it was less then what it is now. now the state will know where i grow, the dept of revenue knows, the police, and even building and zoning. not to mention the location is going to be able to be accessed by the public. some tweaker or criminal can find out where i grow and just have a nice visit. again my concern is safety and privacy. this new law exposes the small caregiver and dispensory to a high risk of possible violence.

fire one up I wish nothing but kindness upon you. I have personaly been a victim of dirty cops before as well as an attempt on my life from a gang. i was young when these things happened. experience has taught me to keep my mouth closed and my matters quiet. privacy is a blessing. the fact that cops have access to my grow sickens me. knowing that my grow location is public record only invites everyone to the door of my grow. i should just give tours. i am seriously considering shutting down my grow because of this. i consulted with 3 attorneys that are familiar with these new laws all confirming that the risk of exposure is extremely high now and proceed with caution. i can easily afford to just buy my medicine from a dispensory and so can my patients. privacy is why i grew for myself and my patients. privacy no longer exists with medicinal marijuana in colorado. i have a great career and family. none of which are worth loosing because of an irrational set of laws...

All I really meant was it seems like a real over reaction to go moving out of state over something that really just opens a different way for the same thing thats already happening to happen. The feds could pull every person who's signed a marijuana bill into court as accessories, and the states not going to sit on its list of registered patients very long if the feds really decided they wanted it.
The structure they're implimenting makes it easier to streamline into federal regulation, and protects the states butt. It also clarifies more vague points left in bs 1284.
Right now for your dispensary to be compliant they have to keep a record of the amount you bought and when you bought it anyway in case the state looks into them, so we're no safer shopping at the stores than growing our own. Soon you'll even get a waiver of your rights to be able to shop at a dispensary that puts you on a registered list of patients for your MMC for law enforcement to reference.
The more laws and regulations they give you that you do hop through, the more protected you are.
I can totally understand your problem with crime, but I don't see how this directly relates to more crime. Not a single warehouse grow around denver or boulder that was exposed by dummies leaving boxes of sensitive information in an alley got rolled by the mob. It's not like the chimo registry where you can just go to the internet and look up all the registered caregiver ops in the state. It's to regulate who's got weed, how much, where its going to, and if you're paying your taxes on it.
Once again, I'd wager you're less safe posting about your grow on a forum than being listed with the DOR.
