Life Goal Help. Extreme Noob with Not a Lot of Cash

Hello and thanks to whoever replies to this. I just graduated college so I'm broke and can't smoke for a while due to drug tests for new jobs. In the mean time I want to complete a life goal of mine of growing some weed and smoking it. I'm not looking at a huge grow operation here so im not going to go out and buy all these lights and special growing cases or anything.

So basically I just want to know what seed I should plant and if it will be at all possible to just put it in a pot, water it, and leave it in the sun light and someday be able to smoke it. This is a one time thing. One and done. So if anyone has any advice on this subject it would be awesome because it will be checking off a life goal of mine.

this is sort of a lame ass post to b quite honest,.... no one (including me) wants to help someone who isnt even serious about this beautiful plant or its rich flowers,....there is so many positives about this plant there is too many to list, go to some bucket list website if you need help to grow your one and only plant, IMO....

I asked for help not a lecture dickhead. I've smoked since I was 13 and still been able to accomplish everything I've wanted to do in life. I can appreciate this plant just as much as anyone else and still not be the all knowing marijuana enthusiast who is so completely up his own ass that he forgets why he's smoking in the first place. you smoke to achieve a higher understanding, not to be a self-righteous asshole that looks down on others. Keep the cause alive idiot

bravo bravo, very spicy, i can tell your gonna be quick to check off all your to do things off your bucket list... well ill help you then, how much do you wanna spend, how many plants, the very least you will have to do is use cheap compact flourescant bulbs unless u can utilize the sunlight... you have to maintain a constant temperature and a adjustable relative humidity level... if u want to grow a plant(s) you will have to in some way shape or form become the self righteous all knowing asshole as like me or you wont know enough to actually harvest the one plant you spent so much time/effort on, if your serious, ill help u

A cheap way to grow is just throw a seed in the dirt outside and water it, if that's all you care about. You are not gonna get much help from people acting like that.

hes not serious. he just wants to put a seed in dirt and harvest the weed without doing the work. why even ask for help to do nothing?

All right let me clarify here. Ive smoked going on 10 years now and for once I would like to say hey "hey I grew this and smoked it" rather than "hey I bought this from shady ass dude and smoked it". I didn't mean to sound like I was going to do the bare minimum here. Im not a botanist so I know very little about this. Growing up my impression was you put a seed in the ground and it grows. Like I said I don't want to buy all this stuff because this is a one time thing. I am talking about expensive lighting equipment. I am willing to buy different pots and soils or whatever. Who knows, maybe I'll enjoy it so much I'll go further in the future. As for now I want to grow it in my fenced in back patio preferably in a pot. If anybody is willing to give me helpful, friendly advice then jump in and I will be extremely grateful. If you are going to be a prick I will fire back so don't be surprised. I'm a peaceful guy and that goes along with weed culture but if you start shit I will finish it.

Seems like you are doing outdoor so the first step would be to get some reliable genetics. After that soil is you r major concern, I would suggest to read up on it a bit. I am sure there is tons of information on it around here, I am still kinda new to rui so I can't point out any good ones to ya.

Shall do. I know a guy I could probably get some from. After that what type of soil I should use is the next question and an appropriate timeline of necessary actions once each stage is complete.

Where are you located? I live in Socal and can throw clones outside in September and Oct and still gets some colorful buds in December. I know the rest of the world isn't like that though frost is no good on plants.

As for soil you can make your own and amend it or go to a hydro or garden store and pick up something like ocean forest. That is gonna be something you have to decide, there is no real one way of doing it.

Ohio is where I'm located and we are about to enter summer. Which is always hot, sunny, and humid. I'm hoping that'll be good enough to grow a plant outside. It doesn't have to be huge. Just enough to make a very satisfying blunt.
