8 weeks old today:
I spotted some purple on some of my leaves.
I'm stoked now and hope like hell that it will spread into the bud.
Gonna keep an eye on it and see if she purples up over the next week.
I'll let her go 10 weeks if she gonna turn purple. Lol

Niiiice, hoping but doubting ill get any purple pheno's. which strain of yours is showing the purple? seriously what air stones do you use? Mine are good but there could definitely be more oxygen in the res. Beautiful buds look very dense

Just read in another thread to flush until leaves are yellow, purple, or red.
This means that the sugars have been drawn from the plant and leaves.
And one of my plants has yellow leaves and the other is turning purple.
I plan to chop by the end of the week. Just waiting on Mr. Postman to bring my scope to check the trichs.

I am using 6 of the 10 inch blue stones from Wal Mart. Anchored down with lead fishing weights.
They clog so must be replaced after veg and maybe a couple thru flower. But at $3 each. It's not bad. The disc work fine too.
Make sure that you let them sit in water for at least an hour before you hook your air line to the airstone.
With a 70 LPM commercial air pump with 8 way splitter.

Leaf yellowing is a sign of translocation. This is where the plant draws any available nutrient from surrounding leaves in a last ditch effort to fatten buds at the end of its life cycle. Purpling is an indication of maturity in some strains but not all. If you're showing purple shades in one of your plants, it may remain localized to the leaves and the tips of some of your larger upper buds, but unless it is a purple strain, I don't know that it will purple up completely. Of course I'm speaking about translocation yellowing assuming a flush of 7-14 days is being practiced. I always flush, I don't know what the finished plant looks like without flushing. I would imagine it would still look yellow a little, but not as much, as the nutrients still remain in a non-flushed grow.

I'm wondering if flushing is pretty much a given and everyone does it?

I have been flushing for about a week and just changed out the water again today and added fresh pH'd water.
I didn't expect much from the purpling. Hoping tho. It's just signs of the end of its life like you said. The bud might have a tad bit but I doubt much.
I have seen pics of this strain with good purple so it is somewhere in the genetics. Not this time. Lol

Great job you have those girls dialed in real well. I can see some tip burn, a good sign that your at max nutrients for your plants. If you want more purple drop the temp in the res to 59 in the last 2 weeks

Yea I actually burnt them a bit about 3 weeks ago. And caught it early so I backed down on the nutes just a bit.
Ready to chop chop. I think they are ready but I think my scope is coming today so gonna check the trichs and chop.
They look & smell very very good.

Tracking my m-scope online and it says its at the post office in my town. Should be getting it today, so I'll be able to post some trich pics.
I wanted to give them 48 hours of dark before chop but if the trichs are where I want them then I'm gonna chop and trim.
Then make me some cannabutter. Woot woot!!

Microscope came in. I'll have to mess around with it some more to figure it out a little more.
I could never get it focused enough to see the trich color.
They look cloudy/milky for the most part. Maybe some clear on the bottom of the bigger buds.
It's hard to tell without proper focus, but I'll try to get it figured out in a few.
I chopped one of my smallest buds from each plant and have them hanging up to dry for a couple days.
Yes the big bud is one of the smallest buds on El Mon 1 (19 grams wet). So I plan on my bigger buds to be alot bigger than that.
Planning to start the 36-48 hours of darkness tonight.
I know the bigger bud may be a little early but what do you guys think about it? They are from different plants so won't look exact
Still a little green but they are 8 1/2 weeks

They look a lil clear to me with a few cloudy. I say give them another week. but i'm a first time grower so wait for more feedback from some more experienced growers
Kinda what I thought. This bud was only above the screen like 5 inches. The rest was under the screen. Thats where most of the clear trichs are.
I changed the light schedule today to 10/14 and will see what they look like at the end of the week. That will give these buds a couple days to dry.
That way I can see what a difference a week makes. This is my first harvest so I'm still learning myself. Thanks! I'd rep ya if it would let me

you should cut off a couple of the sugar leaves that are closer to the light and check those trichs.. That what i been doing since i have a small 60x jewelery scope.

No, those were not the most mature buds. But they were not far behind the others.
I think a couple of them may be bout done but I'm gonna let them go to the 9 week mark and see how they look then.
The leaves are really yelowing on El Mon 2. I don't think I have too much longer.
Gonna check again in a couple minutes and see how the more mature looking ones look.
Most of the clear trichs are low on the plant. I'm trying to be patient. Lol
Ready to get my new babies in the cooler under the MH.

Ok I think I have this scope bout half ass figured out. The trichs in the first picture are the lowest part of the plant. Thats where more clear trichs are.
These are pics from buds that are on the plant. Not the ones i cut off. Those two are still hanging up. Little green smelling, but not real bad.
There should be a considerable difference between the one I cut and the ones left on the plant.
Hopefully these will ripen up by the weekend. With the added dark time they should ripen up a little quicker.
