Two of us have been out here before and have for the most part hit the main tourist attraction but I do love me some alcatraz I wouldn't mind going again.

Yeah, you can't beat it with the boat ride and if you have been traveling with people, the audio tour is a nice little escape where you get almost an hour to yourself. I have no idea why but that kind of stuff facinates me and that tour blew me away.

Haight and ash, hit up that area for sure probably be able to score some good drugs there, amoeba record shop is cool to hit up. The wharf of course. Hit up north beach too. And you can always see the world champs and catch a Giants game!

i heard this from a bunch of people before i took my trip to san fransico. i see a lot more openly gay people in dallas than what i seen there. my san fransico vacation has been one of my favorites.

on to the op, you've got to go see the redwoods.

hang out with fags?

redwoods trees are amazing how big they are but if you live there for years where redwoods are you get tired of them quickly :) no sun lol

Driven down Lombard, and up to Qoit Tower? The tower is nice at night.

When I take friends to the city (it's where I grew up) I start on a street car by the zoo, the end of the line (it's a good zoo)... all the way to Market, then swap over to a cable car... China Town, Ghirardelli Square (the best ice cream in the world), and Fisherman's Wharf await!!

Then, after returning the same way, hop in the car and drive to the beach (you are right there at the zoo) Cliff House, through the park...The Japanese Tea Garden and Steinhart Aquarium are great. Then continue to Lombard Street and up to Qoit Tower. That is really more two days as the whole streetcar ride is a day itself.

How much time do you have? That is the "hurry up" version. But you get to see a good amount of the city by using the street car, and one of my favorites, through the Portal Tunnel (used to jump on the back and ride through the tunnel when I was a kid) and through some neighborhoods

There is a lot more, that's just what works for me when I take someone that has never been.

We had a Fucking Blast when I went to San francisco with my girlfriend. We both ate an 1/8th of cabenzies and wandered miles around the dense city and stole a couple free trolly rides in the process. Dont forget to hit the bottom of the gill and see alcatraz while you eat a bread bowl of clam chowder. also peir 39 is pretty tight. You can see some seals fight on a dock.
Its freezing there even in the sun. I would reccomend a hoodie

For sure, if you have the time to drive up the coast on hy1....it's my favorite drive in the world, but a good jaunt up to the redwoods, the bonus is going through Fort Brag though...again, one of my favorite places.. And I second the "bring a hoodie" even on nice days, it's chilly...and when the fog rolls in it gets damp.

Day one of northern Cali is in the books. This morning after posting we headed to Haight Ashbury within 10 mintues of being there while just about to walk out of a store after buying some cigs I heard someone get offered. As I was waiting for my friends to pay, a girl walked by with her boyfriend who had a army jacket with a Greatful Dead patch I walked out and joined them walking leaving my friends behind just was ready to jump at my first chance at seeing some not shady people selling and it turned out to be my last. Walked around the corner weed was in hand no longer then 30 seconds later. After that continued to browse the areas stores all which were pretty cool I can only remember the name of the first shop we went into ( puff puff pass), definitely a cool store to start if your trip down stoner Mecca. I actually feel like buying weed from there is a definite stoner bucket list item that can be checked off.

We then went down to fishermen's Warf definitely worth revisiting. Didn't get a chance to go to Alcatraz again but I figured one time was enough for now. The submarine and liberty ship are definitely cool to check out behind the old school arcade. Spent about 6 hours wondering aimlessly it was cool. I know I read online pot was easy to get but I didn't think that easy lol.
