Heres a ~link~ for a good brand. I use it the second I see one of those little winged bastards. I just put it in a pepper shaker and use it when you see um kinda like putting parmesan cheese on a piece of pizza. I have had no negative effects on my garden. for real theres not that big of deal of you get on um Fungus Gnats:-x

i have been battling fungus gnats for a while now.
i tried Sand, DE, mosquito dunks, gognats.
nothing worked...well the gognats can work ok if you do a dunk or heavy soil soak.

then i tried pure 100% BTI from the hydrostore. it was 30$ for a 1/2oz but way worth it. one soil drench and they were gone. did a follow up dose. still no bugs 4 weeks later.

fungus gnat larve will eat your roots. causing nutrient uptake problems and very dimished yields. your buds will be light and fluffy and have almost no weight.
good luck.

Try sand first, worked for me. I put an inch of white desert playsand from the depot in all my pots + 3 or 4 flypaper strips around the growroom and they were gone completely in a week. Once gone I put up a clean flypaper strip and it was still clean 2 months later.

IDK, but most of the chemical remedies I've tried are useless. A preventive and chemical-free approach has always worked best for me, and I'm sure plenty of growers here feel the same way.

One word.

Pygantic 5.0. Pricy but is the best. I have used them all.

For a cheaper solution, nematode the fuck out of them.

A friend of mine grows with the mixed coco bricks and his pots are teeming with fungus gnats, even worse than my perlite, so I think they'll invade any wet medium, they are happy in peat/promix as well, little buggers!
