Excellent adviceToo many variables/unknowns to give a real solid answer...
Tent size?
lighting amount?
strains?
veg and flowering length?
style of grow (SOG, from seed, from clone?)
Rule of thumb is to use the biggest pots you can fit.....dont listen to people tat tell you container size doesnt matter, thats an untruth. Ive run clones from the same mother in different sized pots. The yield was bigger as the post got bigger. ...I now use 5 gallon smart pots. Love 'em
i bet if you look at the stalks of your plants you will see signs of them being rootbound.I've got 12--- 3'-4' Jillybeans in 2.5 gallon pots under a 1000 watt hps fit into roughly a 3'x5' area (but I actually have a 7'x7' space for growing under my cal king loft bed-- haha) they all get good light with the furthest plant being about 32" from center......if I had thought it out better I would have gone with a 5 Gallon Square pot which takes up about as much room [horizontally] as my 2.5 gallon pots.
What and just grow spears and hope the canopy stays even? what a pain in the ass that would be to water!36 5 1/2" square pots fit nice in a 3x3
I harvested 2 plants recently and didn't notice any problems when I dumped the pots, the yields look decent so far so I'm not too worried....only 9 days left anyhow.i bet if you look at the stalks of your plants you will see signs of them being rootbound.
Just because you didn't notice any problems does not mean that they were not root bounded, reducing your yield and growth. the base of the stalks of your plants will tell you if your plants were root bound at all.I harvested 2 plants recently and didn't notice any problems when I dumped the pots, the yields look decent so far so I'm not too worried....only 9 days left anyhow.
Also, as I said I'd rather have had the 5gal square pots
i was thinking around 20-25What and just grow spears and hope the canopy stays even? what a pain in the ass that would be to water!
HEY SULLCHONG, How many plants were you planning on growing anyhow?
....well that changes things.i was thinking around 20-25
