How Long Can I Not Water My Plants for?

I have two sets of plants...ones that are 4 weeks from seedling, and a set that has mainly week-old seedlings, and clones that just got planted 2 days ago.

I will be going away for 5 days in a week...this is simply too long isn't it? I have contemplated taking a flight back in the middle of my trip then heading back on the trip.

go on your trip just water heavy before you go think about a wick system if your really worried punching a cotton type rope up into the soil from the bottom that will pull up moisture from a drip tray

That sounds like a good idea...my friend suggested I put ice in aluminum foil cut a hole and let it slowly drip that way...but I like your idea as well

I say go for a wick system rather than giving them so much water. I use one of those filt blankets and just leave end of blanket in a water container/bucket and leave plant pots on the blanket - they'll love it.

It all depends on your lighting. If they are young and under mild lighting, one heavy watering and they will be fine.

I have mine under a 400 watt light (they are over halfway through flowering) in 3 gallon pots, and I didn't water them for 7 days, and I was right here the whole time. They were fine. Just water them right before you leave, and as soon as you get home.

Yeah, they will probably be slightly wilted when you get back but just throw some water on them and they'll be good as new.
