Lighting Question!

so i have 6 clones about 4 inches tall each, they have root structure, transplanted a week ago and roots were popping out of cubes. someone told me that using a 1000w MH would "burn them" and "stretch" them. whats this mean? so anyways theyve been under cfls he gave me, that he said works, and theyve been under them for a week. i feel like i can put the MH in and just give it good circulation and keep it a good distance away from the clones. someone help me!

are they in something else now other than cubes? in pots or a hydro system?

I would raise the 1000 up 4 feet away and then to three after a couple days... then see how they like it.. put a fan in there and keep bringing it down over time.

you can probably use the cfls for a little while longer, but you aren't gonna fuck these up by blasting them with light..

haha cool man. would switching to a 1000w HPS when its time to flower be a good idea?

when your friend says its gonna "burn" them he probably doesnt ;literally mean burn from the heat, ofcourse the main thing is the heat but for the most part burn just means too much energy period, that little micron thick leaf and stem structure cant necessarily handle that strong of a light just yet, you want to eventually use that in the next couple weeks or maybe even days but veg them with the cfl for a lil bit....and as soon as you are ready to flower a 1000 watt hps is pretty much the best strongest HID light available so yes, hps will b just fine,lol...good luck, any pics??

cool man appreciate it. i already set the MH up and have it about 4-5 ft up. seeing how that works out. temp is a lil high tho from what ive been told. its 80-85. any suggestions on how to lower temp?
