Seeds Smuggled from Afghanistan

I just got out of the military and while I was in Afghanistan I smuggled back about 500 seeds from southern Afghanistan in the Helmand provence. I was wondering what type of smoke can I expect from it and just some general info about the type of pot I have. I picked the buds from the fields and got the seeds out of it Ive never smoked the bud only the hash the locals made from it and it was awesome. I feel like I have something special because not many people get to grab seeds right out of a field in Helmand afghan. Just want others opinion on it before I invest in growing these
 
Dude that could be some good afghan mix. Its probably the purest weed you will be able to grow around and get high prices if not just for consumption. I would expect 35/g for this afghan straight from there. Good luck and good growing man!
 
grow it and find out or, better yet, send me the seeds and I'll do it :mrgreen: You saw the plant, that's what it "can" grow.
 
I'll put some pics up tomorrow I got 5 about 2 weeks old in a grow box the leaves are super wide and the growth nodes are extremely close together also got ahold of the poppy seed isn't it legal to grow poppy in the us??

You can grow poppies in the US.. All sorts of people do it. Awesome score on those seeds from Afghanistan.. I would love to mess with those genetics. They would be great for breeding.

Outstanding bro,,,be sure to journal your grow if your able to. I would think breeders would salivate at your good fortune(although the price has been paid by your service) What you have there is propably unadulterated pure landrace. I look forward to your grow, subscribed.
 
Do the opium poppy look any different from regular ones will people be able to tell the difference if I have them landscaped in my yard lol

I would say that you are lucky to have been able to get those seeds home from there, but clearly you were not there on a pleasure cruise...

Best of luck on your grow, you will def be the only person on the block with straight up Afghani from Afghan.

What are you going to call it?
 
Opium Poppies can be grown, not legally. Takes a lot to refine into opium, even more to turn opium into heroin. They look pretty much the same as other poppies. I highly doubt any LEO would know to even tell.
On the seeds 'Happy Memorial' day. (know I'm late) Nice score, maybe a name in reference to what you did there, unit, even corp. IDK.
BTW there are Sativa dom. strains in Nepal, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Greenhouse seeds has a YouTube Seed Hunters. While searching they found a few hundreds meters of elevation/altitude you can see differences.

They aren't the strains we get as afghani, those genetics were further modified in holland long before they made it to any of us.

Does this sound like the plant you took it from?

DNA Pure Afghan
The Pure Afghan is an exclusive landrace from the Mazari Sharif region of Afghanistan. This is the only DNA strain that is bred outside of Holland and are from a fresh seed stock. She is a short plant from the mountainous region resulting in her finishing early.

There has been info recently that some of the DNA in afghanistan has been identified as neither Indica nor sativa nor the other looser common one with a low thc content I forget the name of, but a true fourth previously uncategorised and scientifically unknown strain. Just FYI...If your plants don't fit the short description and pic above they could be really special.


This 11 bravo guardsman who never went to the middle east sure wishes he had some of those seeds. Not enough that I wish I had gone though. :)
Protect and save some of those seeds by storing them in tightly sealed containers and out of light and heat, because lately there are rumors of diseases being spread about that ruin seeds before they've even been planted. Fungal shit I forget the name of but doesn't show until half way through and then ruins entire crops.
 
Nice score!! The "Alien tech" line from OBS was bred from seeds brought back by a soldier from afghanistan. You could have something special there mate, good luck with whatever you decide to do with them.

to oregonmeds these seeds were from the southern part of the country its all farm land no mountains in the helmand river basin here are some pics taken about 4 days ago when you tilt the plants in the light you can see little sparkles on the leaves lol when these were grown in afghan they were about 6ft in huge fields the people never smoked the buds just made m3.jpgass amounts of hash the seed were harvested late summer of 2009 i havent taken any special care of them and they still pop right up its amazing photo2.jpg
 
totally possible that its a native strain, but i think there is just as much possibility that the farmers in Afghanistan are using dutch genetics or have at one point.
 
Trust me Ive been there no way have or are now using holland genetics lol they get there seed from that years crop they don't pick males out of the field they don't care if it gets pollenated they don't smoke the bud they make hash. They farm like it's the 1800's highly dought they are involved that deeply in genetics
