@Woodsmaneh! so after hardening the butter you just dump the stick in a pot of boiling water? this sounds a little fishy but I always wonder why the medical clinics butter looks normal color and mine usually has a green tint are you sure you just dump the stick into a pot of water or is there some type of measurement used also do you use fan leaves or just sugar leaves and what is the best thing to collect them on top basically what is the best method from taking the ingredient gathering it up and producing it.

Yup just dump in the water and follow direction. The butter all comes back so the amount of water does not matter. Like I said deep pot full of boiling water.

I don't use the large shade leaves but do use everything else. I like to have 2 oz of dry material for 1 lb of butter or 1 oz of ground up bud

dump into crock pot with 2 cups of water and cook on hi for 2 hr than low for 4 run through a gold coffee filter and into fridge to cool.

okay woodsman but when your done "refining" it do you dump the water with it does the water evaporate i'm just a little confused on how the water actually helps the process rather than just destroys the butter and leave you with some watery concoction so the crock pot comes first let sit and cool and then refine pretty much?

Just 2 plants. With a 400 watt MH/HPS.
Coulda got more without my mistakes, but that is just part of it.
The hairs on a few of the budz had hairs on them am red as a fire truck. Amazing!!
What I have smoked is good but I will have to wait and see how it cures up.
I cut the budz from the stem and it is about ready to go into the jars.
I had 32.8 oz wet weight. It is now at 8.6 oz
Plus the 20 grams that I have smoked from it puts it at 9.2 oz total.
I'm very happy with the results!

Ok Woods.. I made some butter. ( cough cough ) attempted to make some butter. It hasn't hardened up in the fridge.
I may have messed up by using fresh trim instead of dried out trim.
I put 3 oz which was prob actually 1 oz dry in with 2 lbs of unsalted butter. I was planning on adding the rest of the trim and boiling it again but didn't wanna waste all my trim and have butter that is not hard. I cooked it on low for 2 1/2 hours then strained it and in the fridge. Some parts are hard but not solid.
It taste like a green plant. Not so yummy! I know that is not what you said but I had already cooked it before I read your posting.

I laid them out on a screen overnight to dry and weighted them again this morning. 7.3 oz
I think that is bout it for weight. They went from 32.8 to 7.3 oz.
Considering I was thinking only 3-4 oz. I'm very pleased!!
This is just a bud that I grabbed from the jar. Nothing special.
This bud gets me high and taste decent but it's not what I am wanting.
Maybe after it cures a week or so it will be better.
It's better than alot of the reg weed I get but the dro I get looks alot better.
Hoping it comes thru and cures up nicely.

So I took the butter that wasn't hard and put it back in the pot and added the rest of my trim (another oz) and slow cooked it for 4 hours.
Checked it this morning and its hard. Good deal! Not sure what I did wrong the first time but I think I got it now.
Now I get to taste it later and see how it is.

I should of told you sooner but a super simple way to make oil is to make iso hash and instead of decaporating the liquid slowly you put it in the microwave and pulse it a few seconds at a time until the alcohol is gone and you are left with a sticky oil.


It's not dangerous if you are careful and open to microwave afte revery few seconds to air it out. One or two drops will put you on your ass but it takes like a quarte of trim to make a g

So you did beat my estimate of 8 dry ounces? Great job!

Chopped El Mon 1 and got her cleaned up.
She weighed in wet at 487 grams (17.3 oz)
So total for the 2 plants wet is 32.8 oz. Dry weight should be around 9-10 oz
Will post up more accurate dry weights in a couple days once they dry out.
I got 7 oz of premie bud and trim leaves for butter.
I am very pleased with the outcome of the grow and could have probably pulled another 2 oz if I would have flushed properly.
I have a mesh screen over my scrog net and have the budz spread out on the mesh and have my carbon fan and filter running with the oscillating fan and light turned off and will leave them there for a couple days. Checking on them from time to time to turn and flip them

Thanks! Pretty accurate with the yield guesstimate.
The cookies I made from the butter are great. Taste a little green but they are good and takes about 2-3 cookies and 30 minutes and I feel pretty good.
Imma be flipping to 12/12 in my other grow here soon. In another week or so. Your grow looks awesome! Should be a great harvest for ya..

Curing definitely improves the characteristics of harvested bud. But for any marked improvement, it's gonna take a lot longer than a week. I've found that after letting them sit and burp for a month, a wicked cure develops. But after a week of sitting in the jar, they're only about a quarter of the way to a rich, compacted cure.

First off I want it to smell and look like dro. And have the taste of it. I think of it as decent regular bud with no seeds.
It is starting to look better tho as far as bag appeal. But then again they were not amber when harvested so I can't expect that punch.
Would like that yumm taste when you exhale the smoke. Maybe they will be better in a week.
