Have A Question About Cloning, Goin' To Try Something New.

I usually take my clones with rockwool, chemical ferts, and i make sure ph is correct.

My question is if i make a compost tea, brew it for a few days to make ph neutral, add all essential elements. Then do i need to adjust the ph to put it on rockwool?? Or do you think i do not need to adjust ph?

Hey, I'm no expert on rock wool by any means but I think that your question depends on the PH of the rock wool itself. If the rock wool is balanced and so is your tea there shouldn't be any changes in PH. If the rock wool is low or high on PH I'd make the tea high or low respectively to ensure the most balanced PH.

that doesn't help me too much but thanks anyway. BTW rockwool is an inert susbstance generally alkaline. When you clone in rockwool people suggest a ph of even 5.5.

Wait, your going to put tea on unrooted clones?

no fert for the unrooted clones untill roots show then folier for a while then transplant and ferts. you need clean ph'd water for the rockwool and maybe a little vitamin B suppliment but no ferts as thay have no roots to absorb them yet

ok......... so you are suggesting no ferts for a whole 10 days to possibly 3 weeks before they root?? ps. for my past 30 clones i always give them a teaspoon of floranova as soon as i clone. They are beautiful plants now.

Asking for rot issues.
A super light folier feed maaaaaaaybe but otherwise there is no way they could even use it without roots and your upping your chances of stem rot big time.
Hell one time I tried using a little bit of Liquid Karma on some cubes and that ended up killing almost an entire batch with stem rot.

I guess try it out and report back?

i wouldnt pump that amount of ferts into a baby plant, why would you do it into a clone, clones can only absorb through the stem, the stem wont like all those nutes

I have a freak genetic that came from a bagseed. It tolerates up to 4000 ppms. what do you want me to do? if i dont give my clones at least a teaspoon of floranova they wont root.
