What have I done to my poor girl? AK-48, No Trichs

Hi everyone. I've got a poor AK-48 here with no trichs. No idea where it stands as far as flowering, but if I had to venture a guess, I would say around week nine. I recently grew another AK-48 a few months ago and it turned out as it should, delicious and full of trichs after about 55 days of flowering. This particular plant lost a ton of its fan leaves a few weeks ago, and I figured it was because it was just part of the flowering cycle...but I'm starting to think not.

I'm mostly wondering if its worth keeping at this point. I understand AK-48 is partially sativa, so maybe this girl will take a while longer, but truthfully it looks like a shitty plant. I have grown several other strains over the past couple years with wonderful results, but not this time around it seems.

I'm using Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, Alaska Fish Fertilizer (veg/flower) with every other watering and flushing in between, temperatures range between 72F and 80F, and pH is right around 6.8-7.0.

Images should be attached.

Absolutely no light leaks. The plant is in a tent, that is inside of a closet with no windows or lights.

Indeed :( I am thinking I am just going to nerf it and start over.
shit, i would just finish the grow at this point... even if it's not the best smoke you've had, it is still something to smoke till you manage to get something else going on, that is for sure.
what ever the cause, i'd start some new plants asap, and just keep this one going till it's finished..

Patience. My sativa, although sunburned, took almost 18 weeks to finish. Trichs will develop later in some plants. The harvest window actually opens and closes for sativas, but yours has a ways to go.

This plant looks great but done for. Is the soil really out of whack or somthing cause it looks crazy sick and burnt. This would be a real challenge to finish and not worth it if you have other plants. Love the shape and bushiness of it, looks like a garden bush or manicured shrub.

Eh.... Something's not right there. It definitely looks like it wants to reveg. Did you ever leave the lights on for an extended period after you switched to 12/12? No way possible?

I forgot to add that some of the calyx hairs have begun to turn brown. I'd say around 15% of them are brown. As much as I don't want to, I am going to let the plant finish. All of it's large fan leaves have died, so I am curious to where it truly stands in the flowering cycle.

I plan on germinating some new plants tomorrow after a trip to the hydro store for more soil and plugs. Needless to say, I am disappointed in myself for whatever caused this, although it could be genetics.

Yep, there's no way any light could have gotten in the tent. The tent has consistently operated on 12/12 for the past year or so and I have had a few harvests since then. Are there any other factors that could cause a re-veg? Such as too much nitrogen?

have you ever put yourself inside the tent & zip it up to really make sure there are no light leaks?
in the past ive caught light leaks in the intake & my hood reflecting outside light through the ducting.
also could just be shit genetics, where did you get the seed/clones?

Small light leaks make no difference, big light leaks might. Its like you think the tinyest amount of light will cause the whole plant to reveg! You would have to have a pretty good light on all over her to reveg that! Seriously in a tent like that just how much light leak can you have, he even got the flaps down on the vent holes.

i've seen worse plants... I wouldn't gamble if you are losing time and money on electricity, but you definately still have a 50/50 chance of a good recup, if it isn't poopy genetics. Good luck! And don't be sad, The United States got another crappy president again, but we can't chalk that up to genetics, that's called racism!!!:lol:;-):-(

!!!!! Alaska fish fertilizer??? Is that the only thing you've used? That's the one with the NPK ratio 5-1-1 right? Perfect for veg, to be put to the side when you start flowering! Have you added anything high in PK?

Also, pH isn't too bad, ideal for soil to maximize nutrient absorption is 6.5-6.8

it's marketed as nutes for both vegetables and flowers, but you really have to watch that ratio

i'd say maybe use it as a supplement, 'cause it's good for the soil's micro-organisms, but not as your sole fert, and more so early on

This might explain things.

you said you've grown a bunch of other strains in the past that went well, though, what did you add to those ladies?

Yep, I have tested my set up time and time again for light leaks. There's just no way. The tent is in a closet with no windows or lights.

Yes, I am using Alaskan fish fertilizer, but don't worry, I'm using the bloom nutrients during flowering (0-10-10). I do, however, add a little bit of the 5-1-1 stuff because it was developing some nasty yellowness to it.

I've always used Alaska's products for my grows.

I think a real good flush is in order. After I flush my 3 gallon pot with 15 gallons of water, should I feed her at all, or let her sit for a few days before feeding?

Phew, I was about to say (the Mor-Bloom, it sounds like?). Are we at square one, then? :p

I'd say sit and see if they respond well to the flush - if it makes them worse, they were probably deficient, if they get better, then you'll know it was an overload.

Edit: Just some food for thought, it might not be a bad idea to clear away any dead growth (all those dry leaves & such), no sense leaving it on to block light to new growth and potentially fester

Thanks for the response, I'm going to try to give her a real good flush tomorrow night and let her sit for a few days. I'll post back sometime next week with the results, good or bad.

If any others have some input, I'd be glad to hear it. And of course, in the meantime, some new seeds shall be germinated...:)
