any one have an opinion about kessil LEDs
They seem to be underpowered, overpriced, and prone to defects (go back a couple of dozen pages to read all about it).any one have an opinion about kessil LEDs
I wasn't picking on you, I was just stating that some info is back there if you want it.Sorry for not reading thru but in my defense it is a 300 page thread
If by LEDgirl you mean Cammie's Hydro Grow Penetrator I have to say her light has been surprising me lately. It was one of my first purchases and now I have HSS, stealth, isis, kessil and recently noticed that the production under my 126w penetrator is far exceeding the production under any other areas. To anyone who is thinking of going Kessil, trust me I have five h150's that are JUNK. Nothing there but supplemental lighting. For a while I was regretting my HGL penetrator purchase but after what I have seen in the last few weeks I think I may be calling LED girl any day. Something about her light is doing it.I've seen comparative grows with solid staight and have to say they did not perform well, they look cool but do not do as well as LEDGirls products.
I've seen certain companies that sell 'UFOs' with tech that keeps 1 dead LED from taking out a large chunk of your UFO. So if I were you I'd hunt one of those down if you have to get a UFO (i'd get a rectangular panel over a round one, its at least easier to find ones this way and the tech I mentioned). I can't remember which ones, but I swear I saw 2 companies that did round LED panels with that tech.are theye ufos any good i see they use 3w cree led bulbs http://calyxled.com/store/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=29781 prett cheap price tag too
I thought the same thing. Dude seems pretty hyped on them though, maybe because he is an insi der, but he should probably lower them a bit? Those growbar pics look pretty stretchy.....
You're the only person I've ever seen with any complaint of GLH actual product growing quality (and not something like time to respond to email). Never heard of such a problem with any LED really, my 395w GLH I was flowering seedlings at 2ft and have never had any light bleaching. I hope it works out and he honors your refund or at least exchanges the unit for a new one if its really fucked up. If you could provide links to those forum threads I'd love to read more about it, there is one other company I was leaning towards (and I'd like to see how this is handled so I know if I should switch my preference for future purchases)I have a spectra 290w led from growledhydro. I am not happy at all. First off I never received any paper work, no manual, how to maintenance, not even a bill of sale. If I were to resale the lite I wouldn't even be able to proove it was 290w.
When I got my lite I started a 12 strain grow w/ different auto's. I germed them in their pots rite under the lite at 18" away. They sprouted fine & almost rite away begain to turn white, so I move the lite up to 24" thinking they were just to close for that intense of a lite. It doesn't help so I move that lite back out & put a 400w hps in there. In 2 weeks they've recovered nicely. In the mean time I got in touch w/ the owner/mfg & he tells me that the intensity of the lite requires more nutes for the plants. This don't make sense to me being they are seedlings. So I take the hps out & put the led back in, at six weeks old they had all turned white & all but died.
After all that I put the lite away for a while & got it out in hopes it would be better for flowering. I put a super auto under this time two weeks into flower. It started to turn her leaves white as well, so I moved the lite up to 28" above the canopy & doubled up on nutes as Mike(the mfg/owner) suggested & it did help.
So the lite is 5' off the floor & 28" above the canopy. So I start 5 reg autos, germ them rite in the pot under the lite which is 4'+ from the seedlings. They never turned white but the node spaceing was so close that they never got above 1½" tall in 4 weeks. I don't like my led at all & I've talked to Mike 3x times w/ little to no help. I really want him to honor his $ back guarantee & have told him. He first told me outa 200 of them that he's sold since march 1 I'm the only one that's complained but I've met several other on different forums that have had similar issues& have said they've talked to him.
Sorry to hear about that, hope you don't give up on led just yet because of a bad experience with one light and company. I hope the guy honors his warranty and either replaces it or refunds your money back. Please keep us updated because customer service is extremely important especially in this business. I was intrigued by the GLH spectra lights but after visiting the horrendlessly messy website and exchanging emails I decided this company isn't serious about their image and moved them down a couple of notches in my led list. As long as a handful of users are happy and fanboys keep hyping them I'm afraid those voices like yours who express dissatisfacation with them will be silenced.I have a spectra 290w led from growledhydro. I chose GLH and I don't consider myself a fanboy (as I tell people what I'd go with for less or more $) I want to hear as much about this incident as anyone so I know if I want to continue business with glh. I agree, the website has no excuse though, its been that way since last year (except for the small text update in the product pages). It can't be that hard to get a friend or pay someone to update the pictures... especially with all the panels GLH claims to sell-GLH should submit to the refund or also offer an exchange for a new one, that panel must have something wrong with it if people are using more powerful ones at 2 ft from seedlings with no bleaching or issues like that.Sorry to hear about that, hope you don't give up on led just yet because of a bad experience with one light and company.
