Tall Plant small yeild

5-6 weeks Flower

Some plants got as tall at 4ft and the nodes were very far apart. The yeild was very small....

I would like to see the plants produce more of a coca cola bottle style on a 3 ft plant. And does that come down to stain type and clipping lots?

Some of my thoughts:

Co2?
7 Day Veg?
Different Strain?
More Diverse Nutes?

Thanks!

..... What strain??
Distance of light from plant??
Pruning techniques?
Topping?

Stretching can be a problem... Like..... for instance.. i'm assuming you used the 1000w mh for Growth.. how far was the light from the plants...
They will really stretch to get the light..

As for GH Nutes... I use Lucas formula, Calmag, grozyme, and some H202... Plants love it..

do you have more pircutres as the plants develop???

I'm currently growing a Sativa dominant plant and I have 5 - 6 Nodes in 14 inches...

looks to me your strain is just a bet stretchy in flower im curious as to what strain it is exactly? looks just like the bubba kush i grow pretty tight nodes in veg then in flower they really stretch out and produce allot of smaller flowers that are pretty dense vs less larger flowers, now i know my strain is notoriously a low yielded anyway but the smoke is phenomenal. now the white widow i have on the other hand will produce some serious flowers but the smoke is not as good, so imo im thinking its your strain if you want high yields you are going to have to give up a little potency some of the best strains are low yielding or long flowering so its kinda hard to get everything you want in one.

Hey, thanks for the reply,

Bubbha Kush
Lights - used the hand test, if it was to hot for my hand while holding under the light, it was to hot for the plants top
Never really topped the plant
Clipping - Minor clipping - Overall how hand branches do you leave on the plant it self 2-3?
Someone mentioned to me that a Sativa plant would be much better for my system and less stretching?

More pics to come

probably want some indica dominant genetics for this kind of op.
Trim the lower 1/3. the first couple weeks of floewr

Do you aircool your lights? If you air cool them, you should be able to get the reflector closer to your plants and maybe reduce that stretch.

Maybe switching to something with less power for the veg cycle, like some T5's or CFL's. You can get them alot closer and keep the nodes really close together. I noticed when I moved out from the CFL's and under my 400 MH/HPS they started to stretch conciderably as I had alittle extra time to veg them out a bit longer in my flowering cabinet this time around.
I'm growing out ShishkaBerry.

Good call on the strain from the pics Drgreentm, experience shows +rep

Wait here is an important question, are they in a flood table and are all the plants just siting in small little 3" net Pots? If that's the case they are tall, lanky with low yeilds because of your small containers, because those are typically signs of pot bound roots. The larger the pot the more bushy your plant will get, once those roots reach the sides the plant just starts growing upward.

I would suggest you get larger containers with less plants. But I assume you are attempting to do a SOG, and since a 1k watt light covers a 4x4 area, 16 sq ft, , in which case you should shoot for 64 plants max (4/sq ft) which you can do in 6"x6" square white pots that hold almost a gal of media in a 4'x4' flood tray.
That will maximize your results, then you can focus on things like veg time, nutes, etc...

yeah bro im growing the BUBBA KUSH right now to and it is a pretty stretch strain and just like drgreen said its manly in the strain the buds are fucking killer but the yields such and that's just how some strains are its the big mission in growing to find that strain that is killer buds and looks great and smells Aswan and and manly has high yields but that's easy said then done . I also have the widow and its a good yield's and looks really good but that's it i don't think it smells good or taste good but like i said it looks good cause its big buds. I have been on a mission for that strain that meets all my requirements . I am vegging some AK right now and camt wait to see how it does in flower cause right now she is a really really bushy bitch and every thing i have been hearing about it is good so hopefully i have found a strain that will meet all my requirements i will have to let you know
