PS dont forget you wont be able to keep it at 5.5 but aim for a min max....5.3 IN and then it will be around 5.6/5.7 the following day etc....averaging 5.5 and your girls will luv u for it

then you will only need a few drops that means go very easy - few drops then PH test few drops then ph test etc etc your bottle of PH up/Down will last ages
Sweet mate, your a star. Just been reading on using ph up. Was thinking of using liquid silicon as it has a high ph and it promotes healthier roots and bigger yields just from using this and it states it can be used to get your desired ph if it needs boosting up??

No worries Happy growing, just go easy on the up/down and check daily....rewards are worth it.
Should i be checking the ph of the run off water when i water them. Also one other thing. I have them in 18.5 liter pots, how much water mixed with nutrients should i be giving them? Thanks dude

you should listen to ya plants what works for me is as below

15L pots 12L on day 1
Day 2 and day 3 NO More watering
Day 4 Check and if top inch of coco is dry then 12l more on day 4 however in veg it was every 5 days but as my girls are getting thristy(Bud making) its reduced to every four days....but ialso have a tank into the auto pots so much easy to control...its better to under water than over water....check the coco it will give u good idea another way is as belwo again

Feed and lift pot (gauge the weight)
then
wait 3 days and lift pot (gauge weight)

Of ocurse when the pot is very light then you can feed again.....just my thoughts buddy (i cheat by using autopots - it takes the uncertainty out of it)

Well i have 8 girls in my grow space, so i should be looking at least 20l between all 8. Right?

yeah it will differ between veg /small buds and of ocurse full on flowering

they seem to consume more in flowering-They need it....

try and get to a basic routine...i NEVER feed daily as one mistake and u can lose a week+....

8 plants in veg could be around 1L per 2/3 days but in small buds it could be 1l per 2 days and in flowering you would be in 1l per day territory....20L is ebough for sure BUT its when to reload??????

Well ive been giving them a liter, per plant every other day. If i was to divide 20 by 8 id be at 2.5l per plant. I wouldn't be giving them that every other day though, i was thinking every 4 days as that would suit me as ever other day is getting tedious lol.

exactly buddy...but listen to them they will use up more as they bloom....yeah it seems you got the grasp of watering with nutes.....its tricky but you can find the happy medium....

Thank you for letting me pick your brain dude. Feel a lot more confident now, just need to be 100% that this ph meter is calibrated properly and then i can.
get the ph down to the required 5.3/5.4

+Rep again for you man.

No problem...i went a bought a £40 Meter and it needs calibrating once a month.....all in good time though...

Mine cost me £12 off ebay. Bought a manual ph testing kit as well though but it isn't here. You put your solution in the vial provided and then add these drops to it and it has a color chart to go off to determine ph. What i am going to do is test with this then meter to see if the meter is accurate. :)

I know, but i have spent so much on other things, i shouldn't of even spent anything. Let's just say, i have left my self short on next months rent lol.

next time grow maybe but work with what you have PH is v.imp up there with lighting/nutes and air flow....those 9 plants will see you right in time....;-)

Got the ph buffer solution today and my ph down. Configured the ph meter and i am now confident that is giving me the correct readings. PH was 6.4 after i had added my nutrients to the water, i added 7ml per liter, then ph'd down to 5.2. Lights come on 2 so going to give them all 2 liters each of my nutrient solution which is now at the desired ph i was going for. Will report back in a few days with pictures to show the difference.

One other thing, should i be checking the ph of the water that runs out of the drainage holes? Or am i good just making sure my nutrient mix is at the optimum ph level?

Ionic grow at 7ml per litre as advised on the bottle. I was only giving them 5, but they responded so well to that i thought id up it. It's not nute lock or anything is it? What should i do? Just give water for a bit or carry on with the 5ml

Thanks
you have just been told twice it looks like nute burn and youre asking if its nute lock
