Deficiency or Burn?

I had germinated an old bag seed I had laying around and it is about 4 weeks old. Going to post pics below. These are of the bottom leaves. The upper leaves seem to be okay, a few look to have a slight burn at the tip of them. Running it on a drip system. This plant is only about 8-9" tall after a month. My lighting is currently four 4' t8 bulbs(warm and cool white) because thats what mr. greens dvd suggested at the time lol. Am I going to run into a significantly longer veg period with t8's or could I just have some bad genetics from bag seed? Any comments are appreciated.

res temp: 68
ph: 5.6(let it float between 5.6-5.9)
ppm: 650(B'cuzz hydro a + b) this is including my tap water which is about 175ppm
canopy temp: 79-82
RH: 54%

Hm. my tap water is about 7.1ish pre ph'd and runs @ 175-180ppm. I've tried one of those water tests from a hardware store and it seemed to be fine although it does not tell you much as far as actual numbers go. I believe it said the chlorine level was normal. As far as using it in my res goes I have been filling a secondary res and letting it sit for 24hrs uncovered then add nutes/ph the next day. I'd really like to not use R/O water unless I really can't make tap water work.

I hear you synx, I would still just give it a try, it doesn't cost a lot and it will give you a conclusive answer. Take my situation, my tab comes out at 400ppm, loads of chlorine etc., but my potted pro-mix plants have no issue with it. If I use that water for my hydro plants, they go down within a week, go figure.

Sounds like your tap water is a benefit in your grow. It will be much easier to maintain a stable pH over R/O water. And it does look like slight nute burn. If the new growth looks ok then I would keep things as they are.....

I def do not have ph stability issues with tap water after the first day its pretty rock solid until i have to top off the res with tap water 2-3 days after to raise the ph slightly and fill the res. Thanks for the quick replies!

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with your tab water, but a stable ph (tab water) does not outway importance of content of the water. Content will kill your plants if it is off, ph can be adjusted.

Sounds like your nute strenght is pretty close to right. Usually when your pH drops over a few days it means the plant are uptaking a bit more water than nutes. If your pH raises over a few days then usually means they are uptaking a bit more nutes than water. If it shifts either way drastically everyday then your mix is off and you need to adjust. Sounds like you are on the right track......
