Maybe my methods are outdated but they've worked well for me,in soil ditch that meter & test the run off from the bottom of your planter right after watering, this is how ive always done it,with great success i might add.

Some of the more modern & more accomplished growers than i am may have a better suggestion though.

I guess that would depend on the accuracy & quality of the meter, you've allready stated that the meter wont hold an accurate calibration,i'd be looking at getting a better meter or using a new method,i couldnt trust that meter once i had problems with it.

when i use brita water and leave the gallon jug out for a day it reads 7.1 , then i add my flora nova nutes and it reads 6.5 exactly.

yea thats what my tap water tested when i first calibrated it with the solutions. do you have any pics of yours? i read a post on here where a guys tester went out on him and he thought he was using 7ph water when in fact it was 2.1 . and he had some dry crumbly buds. the soil prolly has higher ph and when mixed with the water gives ya 7.8 . do you have any nutes? my flora nova seems to level the nutes down about 1.0 ph

I gave up on meters,i just use a plain ole ph test kit from petsmart where you match a water sample against a color chart, work'ed well for me 20 years ago & still works, unless your going hydro having your ph off a slight bit one way or the other is not going to effect things that much, if at all.

The water in my home tests at a near perfect 7.0 but the water at my grow location is way off my color chart,my chart goes up to 8.0 & its beyond that a bit.

I have no problem bringing it down to 6.5 using standard pet store ph down after i add nutes,i bring it down to a little below 6.5 normally then i test the run off which stays pretty consistent 6.5,sometimes a little one way or the other but nothing drastic.

nooo. do not use miracle grow nutes. especially the little blue crystals that look like shards of meth. burns your plants.

how do i test the water after adding nutes (canna bio flores/cannazym) with the water sample colour indicator method, since the nutes turn the water a translucent shit brown. I think it made it acidic. does this sound right?

either jump on ebay and get foxfarm . i prefer flora nova , it adjusts the ph to around 6.5 with purified water.
Thanks firebrand I'll have to look for this
