High all,

First time grower trying my hand at a bubbpleponic setup, got five lovely seeds to work with.

NOTE: This thread has been transplanted  from the Newbie Central section.

Here we grow..

Yeah the seeds have now arrived and the growing can begin, here are some genetics info:

Broker: Vancouver Seed Bank

Company: Green House Seeds Co.

Strain: Lemon Skunk - Feminized

Awards: HighLife 1st Place 2007. Genetics: Old school Skunk, from the Amsterdam underground..

Effect: Smooth citrus flavor, complex effect, well balanced and long-lasting..

Flowering indoor: Ready in 8 weeks, but an extra week will increase dramatically terpens content in the resin, resulting in a much richer flavor. Production up to 600 grams per square meter.

Flowering outdoor: Ready beginning October, good resistance to botrytis.

High all,

Well it's been a good and bad week, my bubbleponics will most likely not arrive for another few days and my 5 seedlings are now 4 little girls.

One of the little ones fell ill and did not make it! :wall:

I am starting to worry if it's going to do the girls much harm if they have to wait another week to be transplanted?

How late can one move little girls from soil into a hydroton pellets?

Below are the 4 remaining girls, comments, suggestions..

Should I be feeding and nutes at this point?

Hopefully next week I will have all 4 little ladies percolating in the bubbler.

High all,

I have still not received my bubbleponics and the ladies are growing slowly, I have had the plants under 2 x T5's (23W each) and a 65W CFL (Daylight) for 24/7 and am thinking of moving them to 18/6 as of Friday which will be day 14, what do you think? I have also purchased a 125W CFL (Daylight) and will be turning that light on also on day 14.

Although I like the ideas of low cost CFL bulbs I am trying to maximize this yield so I will only be keeping these ladies under them for about a month, then I will bring in the 400W MH for vegging and 400W HPS for flowering.

Below are some pics of the lights and growth so far on day 12.

2 x T5 SunBlaster w/ Reflectors

125W CFL (Daylight)

1 x 65W CFL (Daylight)

and the ladies themselves

I was also able to pick up this handy little tri-meter, it does pH, nutrients, and temperature.

Let me know what you think, don't be shy! :peace:

High all,

I decided to do some clean up and restructuring of my grow room. I have removed the two T5's and replaced them with a 125W CFL daylight bulb with reflector.

My bubbleponic still is no where to be found and the tracking information is just shit so I have moved them to larger ziploc containers with just enough water for the protruding roots to get at.

The pics are below, any and all feedback is welcome!

Single plant, maybe the best one at this stage.

125W CFL with reflector

Group photo, everyone gather round.

Hopefully the bubbleponic arrives, as of next week (around Day 21) I will be introducing these young ladies to 400W of MH goodness.

Should I be introducing nutes yet, if not when? and how much?

High all,

Well my bubbleponic finally came in, it seems I was rather hasty in my childlike enthusiasm at christmas because seven days through a long weekend is not bad.

Now the sad part, I had to do another transplant from one set of cubes to another due to the design of the BP and the nets I had started them in. All I can say is wait n' see! :-|

Below are pics of the 4 ladies freshly transplanted in there final home.

It will be a few day and we will see if they rebound or not..

High all,

Well I think I have interfered enough and it's time to see if this plant is going to be true to it's name.

I definitely can tell these little girls got burnt from some MG and improper pH. I was able to make it to the local hydroponic store and picked up all the nutes and calibration material necessary, as you'll see in one of the pics below the tri-meter is sitting at:

pH: 5.8
Nutrient: 0.25 PPM
Temp: 67.8 °C

I now have the girls under 400W MH about 20" from the plants an are starting them on 18/6, all I can do is wait and see how they will rebound. Until then here are some pics of the girls, hopefully the next pics will shoe some improvement.

High all,

Just a quick update, the lemon skunk seem to be quite hardy as all 4 plants have survived the transplant have some nice new growth. There is only small roots out the bottom of the pots but at least they are alive.

Been trying to formulate an acceptable feeding regime, any hints?

High All,

Not much to update but I do have some more pics. The girls are growing slowly since the transfer but are growing.

Today I did a res change and added 1/2 of recommended nute solution, and by Sunday night they will have the remaining nutes, this should provide some much needed food for growth in the coming weeks.

This is the start of week 4 and I am not holding back now it's full nutes from here on out, below are some pics of the ladies today.

Here is the one that's thriving.

High all,

I completed another res change and the plants seem to have liked it very much. I upped the nutes strength to about 50% and will most likely go full strength in another 2 weeks, I have patience and don't want to do any damage before I take some clones.

I have read good things here on RIU about Voodoo juice, I may introduce it to get some good root growth?

Here is a quick breakdown of my setup, I have not put up any mylar or walls which is keeping the temps quite low despite the loss of some light around the edges.

Lights: 400W MH
Schedule: 18/6
Current Temps: 70 - 80 C
Reservoir: 22 L
Reservoir Temp: 67 - 73 C
Nutrients: Advanced Nutrients Micro (45 mL) & Gro (45 mL), CalMag (10 mL)

Here is a current pics of the root growth, not much but this is really after a week of nutes:

Here are some pics of the tops, sorry about the light stream, it drowns out the camera a little:

And after the air bath and res change, here is the ladies all tucked in for bed.

High all,

Just some time for a few pics, this seems to be the dull time as plants just growing and not much else going on.

I got a few burns from the reservoir water bubbling up and touching the leafs, but I think I am doing a good job so far.

and the pics..

The genetics I am growing come from Green House Seed Co BV. You'll have to be very careful with a PC grow, Lemon Skunk has known to have two varying phenotypes; one grows like a monster and will outgrow a PC Box in no time and the other stays like a bush, hopefully you have the little fat ladies genetics.

Lemon Skunk smoke is great, and when vaped it will knock you out! Stay tuned because I don't intend to stop posting until these babies are hung, dried, and weighed..

Thanks everybody for the kind words, I will get some more pics up after my reservoir change and I get the grow room fixed up for my new babies.

High all,

So I cleaned up my grow room and tried my hand at some LST, now I have the room but with the Lemon Skunk having such nice big fan leaves this is a great technique to get them out of the way so the little guys can get some light.

I have only bent the main shoot over so that the top cola is below the rest, I only use tape and then release the shoot after the secondary and tertiary shoots catch up in size, then I will also trim some of the monster fan leaves at the bottom.

Here are some pictures of today's work, I will get some root pictures in the week as this weekend I will not be doing a reservoir change, but will top up.

Before the LST'ing

After LST'ing

So what do you think of my light LST job?

High all,

Just a quick update (tomorrow I will get the pictures posted), I have upgrade my grow room yet again with some Mylar sheets and a General Hydroponics Power Grower where I will keep the 1 or 2 Mommas from this Lemon Skunk genetics.

Temps and pH are doing well, approx 72 - 78 and 5.6 - 6.2. I had some small cases of nutrient burn after my reservoir change as I upped the PPM to about 1200, I have since brought it down to about 1000 PPM and they are looking better.

As I said a quick update and I will get the pictures posed for tomorrow.

I'm not sure but I think taping down the fan leaf will cause it to die eventually, and your plant is going to spring back up.

Yeah, dem' ladies adapt like weeds... Any light anyway anyhow. I just put my lady under a bit more lst today. I think it might be the tall and lanky phenotype. I started it from seed 12/12 to dry to keep it short and sweet. It's a gamble I suppose. It's 22 days old.

Actually the taping down of the leaf did not seem to harm the plant but when I tried to pull the tape off the leaf..let's just say:

Duct Tape 1
Lemon Skunk 0

:-(

It sure looks as if you got the stretchy kind, but keep her under control with good LST weekly and you can still keep her relatively small, you will have to continue your LST into flowering depending on how much hight you have.

In the picture above, what's the average yield from a set-up like that?

looking like a nice rebound.
Yeah they have really turned the corner, tonight I am taking clones from all four. Once the clones show some growth I will start flowering these four ladies, I figure another two weeks at max and I will switch them to 12/12 and HPS lamp.

I will post the pictures from tonight's cloning along with yesterday's reservoir change shots a little later, fatherhood duty calls.
