Rubbermaid Purple Ryder Grow Of Doom II

Well I'm back, and it's that time again. Same wagon red rubbermaid, different strain of Auto. Second grow around, I'm going with Joint Doctor's Purple Ryder, a relatively new strain of Auto I believe. Only difference with these is they're regular so, here's hoping for a female! And now for the logistics:

Strain: Joint Doctor's Purple Ryder
Containment: Two 30 Gallon Rubbermaid Tubs
Soil: Fox Farm Ocean Forest
Lights Veg: Four 26W 6500K CFL's
Lights Flower: Six 26W 2700K CFL's
Water: 2-day Filtered Tap
Nutes: Fox Farm Grow Big and Tiger Bloom
Planted: 06/22/11
Germinated: 06/25/11

Day 1

Today "she" has graduated from "her" seed popping party cup to "her" gallon pot. Hopped back into her Rubbermaid home and will start her 20/4 schedule for the next 3 weeks.

Yeah I'm surprised there haven't been more grows with these. I was kind of weary grabbing some seeds since there were not many grows with them, but I had to try.

Yea, only a couple of ppl actually finished their grow logs on them. Im tuned in from the start. Love the Ryders/JEMS, smoke is excellent!

Yeah I'm gonna have to go check to see if there are any finished grows since last I checked. I'm really hoping I can get "her" to be purple. And glad to know the smoke is good !

There's a wee bit of a stretch only because the transplant from party cup to gallon pot was not a clean swap so "she" stuck out a little bit more than she should have but hasn't stretched anymore so I'm very glad about that.

As for updates, "she" turned a week old today. Temps running at a cool 78 - 81 and hoping to keep it that way.

Yea... im hoping ya get a purple one too! It looks awesome! Of the few people that I've seen grow them around the internet only actually seen a couple of purple ones. I actually have some pics of a purple one in my albums on my profile. It starts to turn very late, didn't even think it would. I also grew a couple of green ones too.
The purple ones have a remarkable taste to them and great high too. But no problems if its not purple because I think the green ones have an extremely nice smoke. A nice bit stronger than the purple ones if you ask me. The taste is not quite as fruity, but you wont even notice when you're flying in the clouds.
Make sure you get a nice flush to them and I guarantee you will LOVE em!

Looking excellent so far. Im growing more as we speak as well and am about a couple of days ahead of you. Just don't have a journal going on here atm.

As far as moving them up and down, no you can't really move them up and down. I tried making one of those light boxes with the lid from a styrofoam cooler, but it was too wonky with a power strip. I've seen others make similar items with light fixtures and just a power cord anchored with strips of chain and that seems like the way to go. But when the plant is in full flower they pratically reach the full height of the tubs stacked on top of each other so it worked out better in my case. Right now I just have 3 holes cut out on the bottom of the top tub, just big enough for the socket plugs to fit through, with the power strip on the outside of the tub. That way I can easily click the power on and off if I need to and heat can escape easier. It probably doesn't help for odor control and such but oh well.
