I am currently groing in a closet which is 3x4x10. I am getting all kinds of light leaks coming through the closet door. During the day time this is not such a problem as i am not so much wrooied about anyone seeing the light but at night time i am worried that light leaking in could cause some problems. How can i make it so the closet doors dont leak light while not affecting the doors function to open and close?? My biggest leak is right in the middle where the 2 doors meet. how am i supposed to stop a leak here when the doors need to open at this spot?? +rep for help

grab some panda film cover each door.. and then at the center were the doors meet.. leave and extra half in .. and then duct tape them so they stick out.. so wen u close them they come together and go behind intself to prevent light from coming out very simple.

dude go to a hardware store, hit the painting section and purchase some BLACK plastic sheeting and some gorilla duck tape. its like a roll of trash bags that havent been cut into trash bags. and cut it to fit and tape it up. itll block the light. and should be under $15. they even sell zippers that u can stick on for like $10 here. u stick em on un zip em and go down th middle with a razor . but keep in mind that where the light goes out air is coming in and almost any thing u do will curve air flow. u could by a small piece of dryer hose and cut a hole into the sheeting for air circulation. i would just curve the dryer hose so air comes in but light doesnt go out

On the jambs where the hinges are I just cut up an old bicycle inner tube, slit it down the center and staple each side to the door and the frame, flexible. Fixing light leaks is easy. As well with keeping cabinets air tight.

Hmmm this is interesting. I never really thought about obstructing my air flow. As it is in a closet, these cracks are my main source of air flow. I am only renting and dont really want to start cutting holes into the lanlords closet. I dont think they would be to happy about that. I do have lots of picture i just havnt had a chance to put them up because i think someone stole my camera cord. ither that or im just to baked to remember where i put it. I will have a look around for it and pot some pics of my grow and my light leak problems. Maybe you guys can point out some other problems you might see.

Dude there is loads of things you could do. Ad some hooks at the top and hang a curtain in front of your cuboard is one idea. The key is to try and be creative. A curtain is easy to remove when you need to open the cuboard.

its only thru the cracks of the closet but its in my bedroom and so sometimes at night i might go in there and turn on the light for like 5 mins to find something or sometimes i fall asleep on the couch and so when i wake up and go to bed i turn the light on in my room and some light goes into the crack of the closet for sure, definitely no longer than 5-10 mins if that.
