Fox Farm Ocean Forest Ect

Hello,

I finally have learned what I need to know to start growing marijuana and have everything I need lined up ready to be purchased.
I have considered:
Lights
Temperature
Smell
Space
Amount
And anything else important like LST due to the small grow box which I will be buying.

My question: Can I germinate my seeds in Fox Farm Ocean Forest by it self without any mixes?

I have quite a basic buy so apart from the grow box I will buy soil and nutrients. Any imput/suggestions are appreciated.

PS. I want to purchase the Lowryder grow box from stealthyhydro.com (not stealthhydroponics.com)

What about Fox Farm Light Warrior? I read it is good when mixed 50/50 with Ocean Forest for seedlings

I use Light Warrior to start my babies and transfer to Ocean Forest after two to three weeks (depending on the strain). Never had a problem with it. :)

Light warrior is good for seedlings start he seedlings off with light warrior like in a plastic cup or something then the ocean forest in a one gallon pot

Some strains may not like going straight into FFOF. However all my White Widow seedlings, after germination, and clones after they drop roots in the propagator, go straight into FFOF mixed 3:1 with Perlite. No issues.

I had no problem with FFOF I started my seeds right off in it, I have heard many stories though of people having problems with nute burn:(

Thanks everyone for your replies!
Though I just realized after searching around on google that I won't find any FF close (and maybe even none at all) to me in Australia and the shipping costs are ridiculous.
It summed up to over $400 for 1 bag of FFOF and FFLW!!

What alternatives can I use for FFOF/FFLW and can I use the FF nutes for that soil/medium?

PS. I prefer straight-from-the-bag soil, no mixes (perlite ect)

just go buy whatever soil you can get your hands on then, thats what i would say. perhaps cut it with some of your native soil.

I started my seedlings in miro-grow seed starter, and then switched to fox farm ocean forest. My girls are going great check out my pixs!

I germinate in rapid rooters, and transplant to FFOF when the first little nub-leaves turn green and open up. Every seedling I've ever popped straight in to FFOF has thrived. I think this "nute burn" people get might be associated with other conditions being less than optimal.

Most bags of potting soil, regardless of brand, tend to compact over time from watering. You may not want to pass up on the Perlite ... it's cheap and keeps the soil light and airy which the roots LOVE! Cheers!

Did you try Amazon or eBay?

Or look for organic mixes that you can still find in Australia, i think you should consider using the perlite for sure though, its only going to benefit in that soil.

Foxfarm nutes can be used with any soil. As long as that soil doesn't have nutes already in them. Keep an eye out for that. You don't want soil with time release nutes. It will kill your girls.
