Rubbermaid Purple Ryder Grow Of Doom II

Yep, well joint doctor calls it purple ryder while the traditional name is Purple JEMS or Mossy's JEM. I think the purple trait might be a little more dominant in the ryder tho. Maybe I can throw a couple shots of mine along the way so we can see the side by side?

You may want to think of making a light mover. That way your plants wont stretch which means more bud from the same heigth plant. Nothing wrong win the way it is now but just something to think about

Ah yeah I think remember reading about it being JEMS in the description of the seeds. But JEMS isn't a Auto is it? And sure you can throw in a few if you want.

A light mover as in a device that sweeps a row of lights from side to side, continuously inside my box? Or just something holding my lights to move them up and down as close to the plant as possible as it grows? Right now I just have 4 lights spaced out across the top of my tub to the width of the gallon pot and that's raised up to the lights to keep "her" from stretching.

Yep, the JEM is an auto as well. I think when joint doctor bought it and breeded it he just wanted to have his normal "ryder" name to go with it. As long as you're sitting the plant on something to reach the lights you're good. Easy to maintain with 1 or 2 plants.

Either way works stacking things works but this is what i prefer. If you look closely you can see the design I came up with for my light raiser its a scrap of wood with cuts in i would rather find a way to move my lights up and down instead of the plants. One benefit I have found is then you can mess with your plants while they are still under light this also helps me so I know for a fact my lights aren't in contact with my plants.

Well that and the new name would definitely explain the limited grow logs.

Yeah I see what you did there. I was going to do something with the lights and the styrofoam lid to raise the lights up and down to the plant instead of moving the plant but, it just seemed easier in the end to move the plant. Probably because I've already hacked away holes in the tub for the power strip. But yeah, I get what you're saying.

The bigger "she" gets, the faster "she" seems to grow.

Oh yea, she'll take off big time really soon here. Like I was saying, my girl is a few days ahead of yours so I posted the lil older pic to show you are looking sweet. Yours looks to have more vigor than mine. Wait til you take the day 15 or so pics...it wont even look like the same plant. lol

And "she" keeps on growin'. With these hot days not letting up for weeks on end, a make shift cooling box may be created over the weekend.

How you planning to make this box? My temps have been pretty much 90 for this entire grow, tho it seems to be growing much better than my last, would like info on getting it a lil cooler for sure.

My day 12 girl pics almost identical, except your 2nd true set already has fans with 5. Great start man You should be seeing sum male/female parts within the next week and a half. Sex showed on the plant below at just 14 days...but my previous girls with this strain showed at about 22 days. Males showed around 14 ish either way.

Yeah they are almost identical, except yours are slightly more filled out.

As for the box I'm thinking of getting a sytrofoam cooler, stack it with ice packs sitting on a rack, cut a hole the same size as my intake on my tub on the side of the styrofoam cooler. Then cut a hole the same size on the lid on the opposite side. Since cooler air falls, the fan should pull air from the cooler, allowing it to cool as it flows from above the ice packs. Not ideal and probably wont cool it down dramatically but it should tick it down 2-5 degrees if you have enough ice packs and allow air to pass over them efficiently.

if you need a quick fix i would say use dry ice that way you have no water puddles....... but i guess if you use ice packs you wont have any as well

Came home to some bad news it seems. I think "she" may be a hermi. Which may not be a total loss? I'll have to do some research to see if there's a way I can prevent it from self pollinating. Not really sure what to do. On top of it, I over watered it :/

Yea, that sux man. Did you also see some white hairs on there too? Pics I see kinda look like a male. But I cant see it all so you def. know more than me I got a male in the bunch I'm growing as well. My girls and guy are actually 26 today!

Yeah it does suck, but it was expected to be a possibility so I'm not totally bummed. I actually hope it's a male rather than hermi, I can collect pollen and breed out some interesting crosses later on. I didn't see any hairs, just the balls. But the top of the plant looks like it's starting to produce the cola? Which led me to believe it might be a hermi. I could be totally wrong though since I've never had a male and not really sure what to expect. Nice looking plant you have there though.

Yea, I'm pretty sure the top is going to open to sum balls from the pic I see. But like you said, atleast you can collect some pollen and the next time you get a girl hit her with it, and get yourself a ton of free seeds. Wont have to buy em again, unless you wanna switch for variety. But the Ryder is some great seeds to have for sure.

Do you have more of those seeds? I would start it up now if so, you can sit the male anywhere and he will have enough light to continue to grow out those sacs. I put mine on a window sill.
