blackstar or pro grow led's?

ok.. so now i'm lost.. my plan today was to go ahead and order a blackstar , but a friend called me this morning and told me to come by his place and check out his pro grow panel.. not to shabby at all.. just looked them up and the people seem legit as hell with a 3 year.. i'm looking for density also.. if i wanted airry i would just stick to cfl's..lol area is a 2x2x5 gl 60.. been fighting this battle for about a week now. also just for personal use.. that's all.

Pro Grow. Check my journal in my signature I have two of them and am very happy with my purchase. The "240" blackstar only pulls 130w of actual power, the same amount as my 180 Pro Grow. Plus if you research their CREE led claim you'll find they claim a spectrum CREE does not produce on their adverts. Also consider warranty 1 year with blackstar vs 3 years with Hydroponics Hut. Yes pro grows cost more, but not that much more for an extra two years of security. I'm also pretty sure the blackstars are made in China. Just my 2 cents.

I emailed Gotham/Blackstar this link - https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/377163-lighthouse-blackstar-240w-led-any.html and asked the to please respond to the claims on this thread as I was at the time in the market for an LED light. No response so I went with the Hydroponics Hut Pro Grow series. Glad I did.

Have heard good things about stealth grow as mentioned above but God Damn that is expensive unless you're a commercial grower, which I'm assuming most of us looking at LEDs are not.

Aha for the Money you should add/buy a shed for the back yard and hook it up with 4-600w. w/ cooling & shyt.

yea i made the decision to go led because of the heat and the energy bill, but if i already had 3k watts of lights i woulda probably just bought a window unit

Check out the magnum357's or the isis panels. There are a couple documented grows on this site with guys using both and getting some very nice results.

thanx gerry , i think i'm gonna stick to getting the pro grow .. lol maybe even 2 of them for my 2x2
The only thing that bothers me about these lights is that they have a lot of white lights in them which to me kind of defeats the purpose of using LED's. I though the whole point was to use only wavelengths that the plant uses at be more efficient. Could some explain the reasoning behind the white lights?

i believe they did a study somewhere saying the white light actually has a better spectrum then the blues for veg growth i just cant find the article. also the newer PGs incorporate whites, blues and greens for better veg growth

See that makes no sence to me at all white is the combination of all spectrums so there is a lot of light being produced that is not even helpful in photosynthsis, from my understanding at least. And why would anyone ever put green lights into a grow light? That discredits them to me enough to never give them a chance.
