A fellow outdoor grower by me told me of someone he knew that grew a couple plants in an old log that was riddled with holes from woodpeckers that he floated out onto a pond.

I don't know how much truth to the story there was but if you read into aquaponics the story sounds like it would work. The roots would travel through the old spongy wood and dangle into the water below.

Makes sense, but im high..
dont really know how it would get the oxygen.

I imagine some of the roots would grow into the soft parts of the wood that isn't submerged where they would be able to get oxygen from the air along with the oxygen they're receiving from the roots in the water which would probably be enough to survive. I'm not sure of the quality of plant it would produce but I think it could be done.:leaf:

Ill proboly give it a test go.
Need something to constuct it out of though, LOL.
