Will Net Interfere with light outdoor?

I want to do grow outdoor, going to do some automatic strains, was wondering that if I put the plants-pots, in a small box outside and the opening is covered with somthing like a fishing net or some sort of concealment that way it wont be detected from the sky because it will be hard to see whats in the box...... but will that effect the lighting significantly? It's basically like little pots in a small box and the opening the of the box we can put a net/mesh type of thing so that way you can't see what's in there from the top..........

What size mesh you talkin' here? Like 1- or 2-inch fishnet, mosquito netting, or have you even decided that yet?

Im curious too. Might have to try this myself:-) A real fine netting that sun can penetrate but from above it's undectable.

Thanks for the response guys, no it's not guirilla grow, I'm going to use "automatic" flowering strains and I haven't decided what net, I want to use a net because that way its next to impossible for even a helicoptor to see through a small box with like 7 auto's....... but at he same time I don't know what net to use lol

What would you recommend? Fishing net has big holes lol so I guess it should be able to let light through, I thought it isn't such a big factor when using automatic flowering strains outdoor, but then again I'm confused.

lo, thanks for trying to help but you completely misunderstood......... I want to do outdoors, automatic flowering strains....... I'm looking at like around 7 plants only....... I want to put the "pots" all in one box outside........ I was wondering if I can some sort of net to cover the top because that way it's kind of concealed and hopefully the nets can maybe penetrate the light still?

good luck finding a big enough fishing net.would you be able to just string fishing line in a webbed pattern like that????

I don't think any net is going to actually "block" the light from your plants, but the finer-mesh nets like mosquito netting will probably filter it somewhat. I don't know if it would be enough to make any difference, though. I'm guessing it would have the same effect as if the sky was very slightly overcast or hazy every day, but like i say, that's just a guess. And even if i'm right, I'm not sure how much difference it would make.

Where I do think you're going to run into problems is with the box itself. Unless I'm missing your point, you plan on growing the plants inside the box all season, right? If that's the case, you're going to need a pretty tall box, and if you're worried about concealment I think you'd be a lot more concerned about someone spotting a 6-foot tall box out in the middle of the boonies than someone spotting, say, some plants out in the middle of several hundred million other plants of various sizes and colors. Secondarily, if you do have your plants in a box that tall, the sides of the box are going to block almost all direct light to your plants. They'll be in shadow all day long.

With all due respect, I think you may be overthinking this. Just stick the suckers out in the middle of the sticks, and count on nobody stumbling across them. Cripes, there were times last year where I was standing 10 feet away from one of my plants, and I still couldn't find the damned thing - and i knew exactly what I was looking for, because I was the one who planted it. Unless someone is specifically prowling around looking for marijuana, they're usually not going to notice one even if they trip over it - but I pretty much guarantee you that anyone who sees a box in the middle of a-million-miles-from-nowhere is going to head straight over to have a peek inside.

7 plants in one box? What are we talking about here?...plants that small wouldn't need to be put out until the end of july or something. You'd get the same yield off of one large plant.
It'd be cool if you used seven medium height boxes with screen over each plant. An outdoor scrog. You could have alot of tops on each plant even tho' they are kinda small...hmmm...you got me thinking... Line the boxes up against the house..You could bring the boxes in at night and start 12/12 whenever you were ready...hmm....

edit: not to be a know it all but if I remember correctly a slightly overcast or hazy day actually magnifies the sun because of the water droplets.

Forget the box & plant them out with other big weeds. If you're going to leave them in pots & have them in your yard I doubt you'll need netting but if you are determined to use some to camo them from the air you can get nylon mesh from garden centers. It's blk. with 3/4" openings. They use it to keep birds from eating fruit from trees - I've used it to keep birds from eating my strawberries. Comes in about a 12'x12' roll - can't remember the exact size & is only a few bucks. If you're planting somewhere besides your yard, forget the net, it will be a big red flag.
