I cannot stress how important it is not to fuck around with this,
mites are serious!
I had to scrap everything after 6-9 months of failed attempts to extricate them. (some other stuff was involved we don't need to go into)
They survived every safe and organic method I tried and after that they survived a time released pyrethum bomb. That's like 260+/- days lost. Sure I produced enough high grade crap to get me along but basically it's a fail. Low yeilds, poor developement, disagreeable taste and they are small enough to pass through a kief screen.....
SO TAKE IT SERIOUS MAN! and let me know what works cause I didn't find it.
predatory mites where my first attempt, triple threat mix. Unfortunately my landlord didnt tell me the package had arrived for about 5 days after it was shipped. Only the blood thirstiest and smartest survived that I tell you. They did however survive every treatment the spider mites did except maybe the pyrethum. They just didn't spread fast enough to overtake the enemy.
Neem oil fell short of eradication (once again noticable improvement but no cure) and one of my favorite plants had a very bad allergic reaction to it. ( A very grape-y purple
with a hysterical laughter inducing quality. But it took like 75 days and it was leafy, always pissed me off camping the closet like that, just chillin, like it's got all the time in the world. Everybody else is done , but ol' purple is still in theyre tying up space....)
Safer soap is a good surfacant and I like it for mixing with all my various medicine man mumbo jumbo.
Speaking of which,
garlic and or capsicum peppers are best for cooking with thinly sliced deer steaks. As for deterring spider mites I think they actually love the stuff, they're like yum! gourmet eats! Thank you for the seasoning.
nicotine works until they build a tolerance, 5 generations and they don't give a shit. Maybe less.
Rosemary works well, but it falls short of the true genocide I was seeking. Rosemary is effective to a large extent, still no miracle here. I would like to personally recommend PlantLife body care company. They're Rosemary is the shit and it's a good price. If you like high purity essential oils I suggest you check them out, anyway, sooo much cheaper than that 217 commercial shit or whatever from NL.
*high grade oils should be deluted more than the stuff you find in the stores or it can damage leaves. Plantlife rosemary is strong...
Isopropyl and water is mildly effective at first but fails, Isopropyl/water. I started at like 2:100 and increased over time to maybe ~1:12 to the point it began to damage new growth sites effectively causing fetal alcohol syndrome to the new leaves
Ladybugs fuck, feed and sleep and as soon as you turn your back they escape through some invisible crack somewhere, they kinda work like a goat eating brush he just browses through and leaves a meal for later. They might eventually kill them off, but, they aren't in any particular hurry.
Pyrethum tr kills the fuck out of lady bugs! poor ladybugs... I feel a little bad about that, But alot escaped. So I killed just the loyal ones. Monster! anyway, I set off a pyrethum tr 1500sqft in a considerably smaller area. Long story short it damaged nearby leaves and killed 80% of the spider mites. Wich by now where some god forsaken superstrain of chlorophyll hungry mutants, like zombies..... mutant, hungry plant zombie bugs...seriously.
TakeDown is effective on adults bugs outdoors. It basically it just lets the plant get a little nutrient burst that allows healing and new growth. Allowing the plant to outpace the bugs till it gets bigger and stronger. I did not use it in indoor tests
by then my plants where so F'd up I didnt want to stress them anymore.
So that's my rant on what doesn't work.
So it comes down to handing over $100 bucks to the smurking kid at the hydro shop, while feeling like you got space herpes. people taking a step back as not to get infected.
I couldn't buy the expensive stuff simply based on the fact that the salesman was a dick. My bad i guess, but respect is respect.... yah know?
SO, in closing if you care about losing massive amounts of time and productivity and possibly an irreplaceable strain.
DO Use the harsh, nasty, potent, chemically complex, top shelf , high dollar miteicides the ones recommended by the guys on here with lots of knowin of things.
But please do it in the safest most responsible way. Remember chemicals can alter DNA and nobody wants to die of incorrectly replicated DNA.
So grow your shit as pure you can, but know when to bust out the
Weapons of Mite Destruction
that's all Ive got to say about that....
