actually, i have paid plenty of taxes this year when i was working.

and i had no idea about my wife's wealth until i met her parents. it was kind of cool driving up to a 4000 sq ft house off the fairway of a private country club, one of the best in the denver area.

but the only thing i have accepted from them was a generous wedding gift, a few nice dinners, and as many rounds of golf as the old man was willing to play. oh, and a few manual labor gigs working in the hot sun...ya know, the type of job us elitist lefties hate so well.

Some people really need to brush up on their history. Due to desperate conditions in the South after slavery was abolished (over 3.5 million slaves at that time and 500,000 free Africans lived in the nation at that time), there was a great migration from the south to the north. This triggered many of the segregation and jim crow laws. Black communities were separated from white communities with the black communities getting very few if any modern conveniences. Most of the communities were glorified Shanty Towns. The Black community itself organized and built churches and schools (no government assistance). The poverty of Blacks was exacerbated by the segregation laws and racist attitudes in the south barring blacks from higher education and better paying jobs.

Many left to seek a new life where they had at least a chance. They had to settle in the worst buildings and neighborhoods because no one wanted to sell or rent to a black family. Conditions were deplorable. A third world subculture within a wealthy nation.

I never said that my careeer is "more important" than potato farming, but it sure is more profitable. Jeff, I come from one of the worst shit holes in New England, I now own a house on the coast in Southern Maine. I didnt get here from a trust fund or anyone's handouts. I worked my ass off for what Ive been able to provide for my wife and kids.

I have ZERO problem w/ manual labor Jeff, Im a Marine, I worked full time through college, through a full time tattoo apprenticeship and the first year or two that I was tattooing. During that time I worked on a lobster boat, tuna fishing, kitchen work and as a bouncer; yeah real elitist stuff huh?
I have a life Jeff, a pretty damned good one Im happy to say. Im blessed w/ a great family and general satisfaction w/ my life.....I hope some day you can say the same.

I think the media seems to love to give her attention. Where are these polls all over the country saying Ron Paul is behind? All I ever seem to come across anymore are Ron Paul supporters. Seems like the only reason anyone aside from Ron Paul is even mentioned is because people are afraid that it would be a waste of a vote since he clearly has no chance of winning. I didn't actually hear any of the arguments Olberman made. Bachman may have said some BS things, but its been spun way out there. She never says"I hope unemployment increases so I can get elected" She never says Slaves had it better in 1860 either. Mostly Olberman putting words in her mouth and taking most things out of context.

Olberman tends to do that quite a bit. As does Chris Matthews.
