Any hunters? Or gun enthusiasts? (Survivalists?) (Food preppers?)

cleaning and gutting is easy, it is the cape you are after... for that trophy mount

Very very cool. I don't know anyone who hunts around here, but I did watch a video on a guy cleaning and gutting a deer in 2 minutes on youtube yesterday in case I ever need to remember a little bit to get some meat. Are you in Alaska? I don't know what great white north you mean lol. I'm in Nor-Cal myself.

Hey also I wanted to ask you guys a question for those of you who have female partners or wives that shoot with you. What's a good gun your wife likes to shoot at the range for fun without too much recoil etc?

And also something that she could use for home defense if needed.

the skin or coat of the animal you hunt... if it is trophy caliber, then more then likely it would be a good idea to mount it... so you really need to skin the animal with a surgeon like skill that not many can do...

I know i had to practice like on 20 doe before i was able to cape like my grandpa...

OUt here we do population control killings... the does outnumber the males so they need to even out a bit and they go all rambo on the females... one year i remember we gut and caped 150 doe! pretty cool, although you run out of walk in freezer space fast!

The cape? I don't understand. Sorry. :D

Oh awesome the deer skin 'cape'? Or moose or elk or whatever. Wow that's a lot of venison. I've only eaten venison once in my life (can you believe it) but I loved it.

here in texas your only allowed to have three shots in the tube and one in the chamber atleast its that way for dove
That's a weird law, all you have to do is pop more shells in. But yeah if I was in Texas and I had 3 shots in the magazine and one in the chamber with my gun I'd be legal, right?

i teach my gf to shoot with all my weapons.. that way she knows how to handle them when im not around... i have 3x .270's, 3x 12ga. shotguns, 3 hand cannons(.45 cal and up), 1x 30-30 lever action rifle(my favorite) and a .17 hmr... so i have shoot with all of them...

for a female though, depending on what you are going to do, i would recommend a .243 for long range and a 9mm for a pistol for starters...

but their those crazy chicks that think they can handle a big gun, youtube it and you will see what i am talking about...

youtube this gun, 700 nitro express... watch the video and tell me what you think...

Hey thanks a lot bro I'll definitely let her know. She tries picking up the 12 gauge and it's too heavy for her or something. A 9mm sounds about right, not sure what a .273 is, I'll look it up. Thanks again :peace:

edit: re-read and saw you mentioned it was a .243 :)

You have to put a plug in the magazine tube that restricts the number of shells it can hold. In my state it's 3 shells total.

And I'm putting together a bug out bag.

its only for hunting doves a believe its a restriction on it. kind of like in some places you have to have a handicap to hunt with a crossbow during archery only seasons.

yes what sgt. floyd is correct
