Watering as seedlings?

This may be a super newb question but I am curious as to how often most people will water their seedlings. Just planted 3 bagseeds just as practice one of them after a day has popped and leaves are forming the other two are going pretty slow. Soil is pretty dry and I just water when the soil is dry which has been a little in the morning and a little at night.

Running veg lights 24/7 and average temps are around 79f.

Is this about on par for watering when they are just busting out of the seed?

The rule of thumb is if it is dry 2" under the soil, you need to water.

If that's your rule, you're overwatering. The top of the soil dries out way faster than the bottom.

dont underwater them either. i just fell asleep for the night, and in 8 hours my seedlings took quite a hit

I generally try and keep them moist. Not wet and not dry, but moist. You will know when they need watering if you see the top soil dry...For the future, you may want to get some rockwool. It is really easy to regulate your watering with those and then do a transplant when the roots are popping out of the bottom. Good luck.

Wrong, the top of the soil dries out much quicker than deeper soil. Again, if this is your indicator of when to water, you are overwatering.

The roots are still only about 2" deep so i think that is what he was referring to I am sure once the taproot grows an it branches out then obviously this rule will change. I just want to make sure I don't fuck anything up.
