Newbie questions :) + rep for good anwsers TY :)

So i am 6 weeks in flower on my 1st ever grow (see my journal for pics exact details etc)
i have done alot of research so im not trying to ask dumb questions. and my questions are:
When do i harvest? When trichs are 75 % amber correct? and all hairs are amber?

How long do i dry for? aprox.... i know u cant tell me exactually,

i was going to use my flowering room to dry because it has great ventelation etc but i will have other plants in there in flower so my lights will be on but the hanging drying rack i have wouldnt be directly in the light. question is this ok?

Question curing seams to be so verry important to taste and smell so how long do i cure? how often do u burp it? how do u know its dry enough to cure?

and any other advice you may have is greatly appriciated TY mxmom

the amber trichs need to be between 25% amber and 75% depending on the high you want and the strain.................the hairs are usually a pretty good indicator of when you should look at it with a 10x scope (when they are almost all brown).............

you dry till the stem snaps obout 4 days in FL and you would have to keep them in complete darkness light degrades THC the second you cut the plant......

cure usually 2 weeks to 3 months depends on you. burp the jars every 12 hours i just take the nuggs out of the jar and spread them out for like 15min till they get crispy keep a close eye on them the first week for mold after the second week just check on them ever couple of days

thats a really good grow for your first one...go big or go home huh lol youll see the nuggs get really swollen b4 there ready you still got like 3 weeks left in flower

dont dry with the lights on. has to be a dark place. imo the best time to do a final trim is right before your stems crack, leaving a little moisture in the stems.

Yes i would of said go big or go home myself but it offends the men LOL J/K yes i figured i dont anything small why start now I am a little ocd so i just dont want to loose this big of a crop too much money ya know


so other question why is it that no posts on drying say dry in a dark place ???? i wonder how many people a drying improperly??

I am also interested to grow for the first time and you have great story and nice experience for the first time.It is quite helpful for me,Is it to grow with some specific soil or some fertilizers for soil initially,I am totally blind about that????

The bud should have a darker hue than normal. New calyx/pistil growth should be very slow and all the red hairs should have receeded back into the calyx. Calyxes should be very swollen. The leaves are usually pale green if not completely yellow and falling off. The trichs should be large and cloudy to amber, but don't rely on only the thrichs. The plant gives more obvious signs when it's done.

Bean thank you for the advice i really wish i knew what that looked like........ (1st grow) lol So will all the hairs be red? and i have 30x scope to look at trichs. also what if i dried buds in a paperbag??? is that good for darkness? TY

They wont all be red, but mostly.

This bud has cloudy trichs, 50% red hairs and pale, yellowing leaves, but it still needs time.
I'm pulling my plants in 12 days. I'll post a few pics of what they look like when they're done.

Heres when I harvest: hairs are all redish or brown and reeceded back into the caylexs if you see white hairs that means the buds are still growing/swelling, fan leaves are yellowing and falling off, swollen caylexs, depending on the strain I will takes the trics into consiteration but sum never turn very amber I had a super lemon haze last year that would never turn more than 10% amber and finally your plants/buds overall color will change to kind of a brownish tint, the more grows you get under your belt you will see what im talking about.
