Very interesting read, and was very insightful into the use of Molasses as a fertilizer. Though, it has probably convinced me not to go this route. I thoght that using Molasses on your soil was more of a full fertilizer that could substitute your typical "main" fertilizer. This doesn't appear to be the case, though it would seem that using it could still offer some benefit. Maybe this is a 2nd grow thing I will try. Thank you Stoney for finding this and including it, it has helped my decision making process quite a bit!

Just a general update guys. Plants are looking fine, and appear to be on the road to recover from the burn. I know that it wasn't that big of a burn, but I still never wanted it to happen. Either way, looks like no real damage done. I took some shots of the main colas on each plant, not extremely good quality but its alright. And a picture of my grow space, starting to get pretty packed in there!

I have had to LST again the bigger girl because she ran into the lights, putting her Cola in the middle of the pot. Its kinda low from the lights, but judging on how she has grown thus far it will get right back to those lights.

Lights on today and the ladies are doing fine. I checked on the smaller clone today, and it had 1-2 roots coming out the bottom of it. Though now I am worried that since I took it out and then put it back in the dirt, maybe I have messed it up! I was as gentle as possible, but I did hit a little resistance when putting it back in the hole. Should I be worried about this?

Also, would combining water with rooting hormone and using that to water the clone help at all?

don't pull your clipping out like that. and it would have been a little more gentle on it if you would have pulled some soil out, set the roots down, then put more soil on top and water. but don't pull em out like that anymore. if ya wanna see the roots then put it in a glass or clear cup. then put the clear glass in a dark container so the roots won't be exposed to light. and i would not suggest rooting hormone mixed with water. some have done it but it very easy to burn em up. one safe thing you can do is find a willow tree. cut some fresh growth off the end and soak that in water. then water your clippings with that. willow trees have a natural rooting hormone in them. plus it is free!


oh yea, make sure after you pushed it back in that moist soil is all around the roots again. air will kill them.

Yea, I had figured after doing it that it wasn't probably the smartest thing in the world. Oh well, just a noob mistake. Something I will not do again though Patience is key. The big thing is that when I had went to see if it was rooted or not, it kinda just slit out of the ground. There was no resistance when pulling it out, only really when I was putting it back in because I had to make a new hole for it. I had thought about adding the rooting hormone into the mix because of the fact that its not in the old hole with all the old powder. I did push it back into the soil (hence the little bit of resistance part), and watered it to set it back into place.

Even it if doesn't work though, the I have enough time on these plants to take more clones if need be. :/

I don't have a dome on there. Where I live, the humidity level outside is already 60-70% so I just leave it there. I figured, that is better than any dome. I do talk to them when lights are on.

Can any of the more experienced people possibly tell me how it is looking in terms of possible yield? I understand that like the strain questions, this is almost impossible to properly predict this early into flowering. Though, if anyone has some insight in regards to probably yield in regards to my setup and how the plants are looking thus far that would be awesome!

Alright, no problem on the yield question. Was only just hoping for an answer, I know it would be just a guess anyway! The babies are looking good today, starting to generate their first trichomes. Its not explosive trichome production like you see in some people's threads around here (I suppose that's the benefit of "paid for" genetics) but the fact that they are coming in is exciting! The bigger plant by far has more bud on it overall, but spread across maybe 6-7 main bud sites. The smaller one has much bigger bud, but concentrated in 4-5 main budsites. The bigger one also is going to have much more popcorn bud as well it looks like.


The clones appear to be doing good. The one I pulled out is still looking perky and green, I am keeping it misted and just hoping for the best. The bigger clone that you can feel is rooted has just started sprouting its first set of new leaves. Currently, I have them in with my main plants which are 12/12. Will they veg to a normal size then flower as though I had just planted a seed? Or, will they just begin to flower due to the 12/12 lighting? I do not want them to flower, as they need to get bigger. If this is the case, I will have to figure something out for where to put them. x.x

They'd go straight to flowering, it might be detrimental I use a seperate lamp for my cuttings. Even outdoors when its humid could work.

Hey SDR thanks for stopping by! I wish they wouldn't go straight into flowering, do not really trust them on my porch and have no good place to put another lamp! I will have to figure something out, and hopefully I have not stressed them to much by keeping them in 12/12 for 3-4 days. I will think of something.

your 3-4 days of 12/12 shouldnt hurt anything. you should get to see the sex of your plants tho wich will help to get rid of the males

Since they are taken from females, I would imagine they are going to turn out to be females. Unless, everything I think I have learned about cloning is askew. 0.o The only reason I even worry about it is so that they actually grow, and don't just sit there and bud. Also, want to keep stress down to avoid possible hermis (seems to be more common with bagseed grows like this).

To me it does make sense to use more nutes the last 2 weeks when it is packing on all the weight, but from all my research it seems you stop nutes 2 weeks before harvest. The reason is for taste I believe(may be more to it but it's early in the am and I don't remember) I'm def no pro, I'm currently on my 2nd grow. I used molasses the last couple weeks and it seemed to help a little bit, some people use it like every other watering once plants are in flowering b/c it helps the soil. Well, that is my $.02 for today but looking good so far man and I'll be subbed.

I've actually laid off the nutes for now as I know that my soil contains some, as well as the fact that I burned one of my girls pretty bad. I believe the key reason why people "flush" the last 2 weeks is because the fertilizer in the bud can give some people headaches. I will probably be doing this, not sure about the molasses yet. Gonna post an update here soon on all the girls!

Update time! I am going to make one post for each girl, then a third post for the progress of the clones. I still have yet to name either of these, and will probably keep them relatively un-named. Currently I have been calling them short and tall, so here is Ms. Tall. I tried my best to get good pictures. Enjoy!

Now, for the clones. If anyone has any input on how the smaller clone is looking I would not mind your input. The bigger clone (Ms. Tall) has clearly new growth from when I started the cloning process, so this should be a 100% successful root. Still have my fingers crossed for the smaller clone (Ms. Short) but I am afraid to tug on it just yet. The extreme close up is of the smaller clone (Ms. Short) so you guys can see the stem color.
