Thanks dude!!! I am vegging with a 120W Tri band LED, from HTG supply. I believe they have discontinued selling the model right after i bought it. before i had the GLH's i used it to flower with along with eight 23W CFL's.

Do you think it'd be worthwhile to get a cheapy LED to veg with? I already have CFLs from my first grow that I'm gonna use for now, but I feel like even a cheap 90w ufo will cover more than 4 27w bulbs?

A cheap LEd panel is good to veg with. it's the 660nm of red that is hard for LED companies to achieve. the 440nm of blue required is easy and cheap to get diodes for.

Okay, might look into one of those eventually then, but think I'll put priority on getting a nice one for flowering first. And 4 was just an arbitrary number as that's how many I have over some clones right now while I wait for them to root. I can get at least 10 in the veg area, more if I add additional y-splitters. Do you have any recommendations for a decent ufo that isn't too pricey? I'm guessing that I shouldn't look at anything that doesn't have at least 1w diodes even for veg?
I'm not sure off the top of my head... I'll snoop a little bit for ya and see if i see any "must grab" deals.... I know GLH is releasing one very soon, I heard it will fit inside a PC case!!!!!

Damn, that sounds awesome, I'd end up around 330w of CFL (4-42w and 6-27w) so it would be similar savings and cooling comparison. I edited above and added the link for a 90w veg ufo htg has, but if GLH is coming out with something that'd work for this I'm sure it'll be superior. Think I may have to send Mike an email asking about it, thanks for the heads up on that.
I wouldn't buy it if it were me. there is way to much marketing BS on that description. The GLH one will be no joke... it will draw 90W not contain 90 1W diodes. That is where the BS starts... any company that claims they have 90 one watt diodes and the panel draws 90W is full of it!!! no LED on the planet can run at 100% power. well they all can just for only a second or two... the diodes themselves can only run at like 55% value or something like that... the drivers that power the LED's are just as important. this is why blackstar has such great success... they have great drivers powering their diodes.
Thought I read the htg light used 2w diodes, I'll check again. It's because my cab is so narrow that I've stuck with CFLs so far. Got about 19" of depth, and currently using 23" width but could use about 47" if moved things around a bit. If I veg in the wider area the height is fixed at 20" and I think that may be a bit too short, but if that'd still work fine I can do that. In the morning I'll get a pic of the overall cab as it is right now to show you what I mean.
