Help please, no potency whatsoever!

I'm just finishing flowering 3 hashberrys and it seems like it's gone the same way as my other two previous harvests. I sampled one of the hashberrys last night and it did not get me stoned at all. This is now the third time in a row this has happened. First time it happened with an ak48, then a white widow (nirvana also), then I discovered I had thrips so I thought that might be causing the complete lack of potency. After getting rid of the thrips I tried a cutting of the white widow which flowered the same way and now I've got 3 hashberrys, one of which I'm sure doesn't have any potency at all. I've been buying the seeds from pickandmixseeds.co.uk which is reputable I think. The white widows smelt a bit like white widows and the hashberrys also have a slight berry smell (no hash though) so I think I've been given the right seeds. It's possible that the compost for all these grows was too rich (plus unnecessary feeding) but surely that wouldn't have made these grows end up like this. I flowered all of the plants a long time and the hashberry that I sampled had been on 12/12 for 8 weeks so unripeness isn't the problem. It's not tolerance either because a proper smoke will make me stoned. I'm thinking now of going back to Amsterdam to stock up for a few months!

I don't know what causes it but I can tell you the weed I got off my now old dealer didn't get me high at all. It smells like skunk but theres zero crystals and not even a CBD effect. I thought they were sifting/tumbling for hash or something.

Whats your light setup and how are you growing soil or hydro?

Maybe you've been harvesting way too early this whole time, thinking you knew what you were doing?

Pics?

You have to check the trichomes, you can't just be like "It's been 8 weeks, I think I'll harvest" FFS! Plus you need to properly dry the bud to get it's full affect.

Hi Nusky, I had exactly the same problem with my old dealer which is why I decided to grow myself. I'm growing in soil and I've got a good light setup, 400w hps+ for flowering and 250w mh for vegging. The buds on all the plants I've grown have all been quite big but when looking at the trichs I think some or maybe lots have been clear and not cloudy (definitely no amber).

Please listen to what I'm saying everybody. I have looked at the trichomes on all my plants with a 30x magnifier but I have trouble telling the cloudy and clear ones apart. I have never had an amber trich which rings alarm bells to me. Apart from my hashberrys now, I have grown all of them past their recommended flowering time and sampled in the weeks before it. They do NOT get be stoned.

Well this just further supports the theory that you are harvesting too early.

Get a better microscope.

Do you really think you have some problem that nobody has heard of where anything you grow has all the potency gets magically sucked out of your plants? C'mon.

Think about it, and please listen to what WE'RE saying.

yea thats true, it takes a good month at least to flower not counting the vegitation 18/6 time. When I grew my first time it was total killer and all I did was waited till the hairs turned 70% red.

yeah now we are talking lol. so what is the fantasticly fast finishing strain you have that is ready in a good month?

harvesting early is not good. i still use a scope to check the trics, but you can usually just see with your eyes as the buds change and are ripe for picking. i flower an 8 week strain for about 9 weeks up to 10 weeks if the conditions are good and i can wait that long to pick them. i have had to chop at 8 weeks due to high humidity and all of the plants, all different strains, were still killer smoke.

Honestly, I have not picked my plants too early. Surely, after 7 weeks flowering (8 weeks from 12/12), it should be okay to sample and I should get high from it? Concerning the trichs, I suspect that the plants I have just give up on creating thc for some reason which is why I've never ever seen amber (it was about 11 weeks flowering for my white widows). As for hairs, I've harvested all the plants when most of the hairs are red.

lawl been a while since I grew and I don't keep track of the grow. I wait till they get 2 or 3 nodes then start week 1 veg nutes. Kinda keep track in my mind what week I'm on with flowering but I never really keep track of total days gone by. They're usually 6 or 8 week flower periods, I was close bongsmilie for me lol

The trichs turn red when they are degrading. How you found the fountain of youth? Lol

If you say so, man. Something is not adding up here, you are making a poor assumption or not giving us the whole store. Are these plants healthy looking when you harvest them? What kind of lights are you using? What's the per-plant dry yield?

I've grown WW, and growing Hashberry right now, this is my 2nd run with her she's on day 71, a heavy yielder & has some of the biggest top buds I've grown, to be honest she was pretty good my 1st run but she had room for improvement, it always takes me 2 or 3 grows before I ditch a strain; the kush crowd probably won't like her as much but her stone is pretty heavy not as potent as the other strains I have, but it can put you down.

I agree something is not adding up here! I'm using a 400w hps plus light and haven't bothered weighing my previous harvests I've just thrown them away:( None of my plants have looked that healthy when I've harvested them because I've usually only given them water near the end so they can suck out nutes from the fan leaves. I though the thrip infestation during my first two harvest might have explained it but now I don't have thrips and I've been doing all the right things I believe. My fear is that the trichs aren't changing and the only reasons I can work out for that is that 1: I'm buying seeds from an untrustworthy company (they've often been individual seeds from pickandmixseeds.co.uk) or 2: that the compost I've been using (Wickes nutrient rich - from the UK) is not good. Can someone definitely vouch for this company? I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
