Poor girls are T-H-I-R-S-T-Y.

pretty cool how soft the stems get. i've never really thought of this before. i have had plants in the past that i wanted to bend over but the main stalk was to stiff. just underwater it and it bends right over. i'll have to keep this in mind. :blsmoke:

Question: I have heard that if you let your plants droop like that it can stress them out and effect yield + potency- however I have let my girls get that thirsty before ( several times during the same grow ) and noticed no ill effects. Do you think that letting plants get THAT droopy really has negative effects?

i think people like to make up stories. it's a fricken plant. i would think under watering it would make it stronger. :blsmoke: my outdoor did this everyday last year for 2 months. it was 100+ degrees out. everyday they would wilt. everyday i would water them and they would perk right back up. i prefer to let them wilt. it prevents me from over watering. i can fix under watering in 5 minutes. if i over water my plants they usually die.

I think you're right about underwatering, FDD..as long as it doesn't get TOO bad, it just makes the roots stretch out and try a bit harder.

The Ol' "That which does not kill you, makes you stronger" thing ;)

I have no clue how i missed this? I just stumbled upon this thread. Fdd what else you throwing outdoor this year? And thanks for the heads up with HTG supply. Perhaps i'll look elsewhere but them being only a 40 minute drive from me well that's a plus:-) Decisions, Decisions:-( I'll probaly just rely on the sun this summer. It's free light and put the extra cash towards some FoxFarms products.

Hank.

one thing about smaller pots, you have to water more often. they start to wilt after 36 hours. looks like i'm gonna be watering at least once a day here pretty quick.

i don't know if i've ever really had this happen. at least not that i can remember. this plant was a female a week ago. it had female preflowers everywhere. at least 20 of them. today, after 8 days of 12/12, it has balls on top. weird. it's out. compost pile for this one. damn, it really looked nice. i have 1 left of this strain still in flower it's still a female. this is NOT, NOT, and NOT again a "hermy". i would call this a "false showing". :blsmoke:

That sucks that the plant kinda flipped like that. At least you caught it.

Makes me think twice about "knowing" sex early in 12/12. Maybe 2-3 weeks is when its a sure thing.

I'd wait a couple more days to be positive pistils arent going to shoot from what look like balls now.....considering you already have seen alot of pistils.

the jacks surprise is already forming nice flower clusters. once again 8 days of 12/12. i have 3 of these. everything else is looking perfect. the weather has changed and now my humidity is running between 31 and 43%, temp is 61 - 79. if my temps raise as the weather warms i will bump my fan size up 2 inches. other than that i think i have a pretty good set-up. i have NO desire to change anything at this time. :blsmoke:

friday night pics. day 13 of 12/12.

dear diary,

today i had to bend over the top of one of the purple somethings. it was up into the light. i used some thin stainless wire. i hooked it around the top then pulled it down and hooked the end around the bottom. strung it up like a bow. i also bend over the shaman. i don't know where it thought it was going but it was going. i just simply bent the main stalk over until it folded. not snapped but folded. i have to keep moving things around to get the best coverage of light. watering the back plants is becoming a chore. i've just been pulling the front 2 plants out in order to get to the back ones. it's cool, 'cause now i get to see everything. it also allows me to keep an eye out for any problems. often we neglect the plants in the back corners simply because we can't see them as well. by all the moving around i get to keep a close eye on everything.

the hindu kush have really come around. they are all the same height. very nice uniform garden. i've been feeding them heavy and letting the soil become DRY before watering to encourage root growth. seems to be working well.

my temp and humidity control is still running perfectly. :blsmoke:
