If you have multiple large wattage CFL's, or if they did a 1000w CFL, you'd still have to cool them similar to a HID setup. I had a 200w CFL in a tent before and if you didnt exhaust it it jumped up from 18C (64.4F) to 32C (89.6F) in quite a short period of time. The ballasts on the bulbs produce a LOAD of heat, and the actual bulb heats up quite alot too, you can touch it but not for too long.

Just incase you thought it'd run cold.

the company that makes my 6 bulb 4ft T-5 makes one with eight that makes 432 watts and mine is dimable too four bulbs or six in different patterns i foget who makes it but its basic and ya 1000 watts of cfl would need some air blowing on it to cool it

Home Depot & Lowes sell 300w equivalent, actuzally saw a true 150w CFL at home depot yesterday.

^they carry up to 200w, but there's a variety of higher wattage screw-in bulbs on this site (I like the 85w towards the bottom)

I think ur referring to t5 badboys
They draw at most 650/700W for the 12 bulb or 16 bulb models

I am currently using the bad boy 8 lamp light and so far it's been fantastic. Great growth in veg and says somewhat cool. Very bright and widespread light as well.
