xbox live down for anyone else?

i haven't used my xbox in 2 days. it's a miracle. i want to go to gamestop and get somehing new but i am broke...

u r addicted to hulu

Addicted to hulu? nah, far from it. I only watch a few hours of tv per week, but when I do it's either netflix or hulu. I dropped my cable all together for a combination of netflix/hulu+/vudu. $15/mo beats $70+/mo for local cable. I highly recommend it to everyone. Cable is ridiculously over priced for the shit service they offer. I wish there was a way to drop internet service through my cable service. My town is in the middle of setting up a wireless architecture throughout the whole town. $35/mo for 20MBps down and 10MBps up is going to be the price point. They're going to run the cable company out of town and I couldn't be happier.

Gamefly is the best..............

Definitely looks like a good service. I don't feel like paying $22+/mo though. I don't play enough games to justify it. I'd rather just purchase the games outright.

Man I love Forza, but I don't think it could touch Gran Turismo 5. I've always been an xbox fan, but the Gran Turismo series is my all time favorite racing game. Glad to see Forza is getting better and better though. Am I right to assume that video is all composite and doesn't include any actual in game footage?

that's cool. i am into a lot of series like true blood and weeds so i need to have cable. i agree that it's a ripoff and if i didn't like the shows, i would give it up too. i wish i could just get hbo/showtime and cable modem and none of the other BS.

Yeah I really would like netflix/hulu to pick up HBO shows. There a few I'd watch if I had access to them. Usually in that situation I just download HD rips. I upload them to the media server in my garage, then I can stream them from the server on my home theater PC. It works out well. I have about 5 Terabytes of HD shows/movies/specials on one of my servers.

Getting a decent copy of some shows can be a pain in the ass though.

edit: I think that HBO is coming out with an app for tablets/phones so there may be a version you can get on some home theater software like Boxee or XBMC. If showtime did the same, you might be able to get away with dropping cable in favor of something cheaper. That would be awesome.

yeah i know. if hbo/showtime came to netflix, i would have absolutely no reason for cable. i would drop i so fast... i am addicted to netflix. haven't tried hulu :)

Hulu has it's pros and cons. I like it because I like a lot of the current shows. So with Hulu+ (same price as netflix streaming, 7.99/mo) you can stream new shows the next day after they air. So for example Hell's Kitchen aired like monday (i may be wrong) so from Tuesday morning on I can stream it over my xbox or computer or bluray player. They have contracts with Fox, ABC, NBC, and many many other primetime channels so 90% of the news shows are on it. They also have old shows and movies like netflix. The only thing that's a con for me right now is they commercials (it's in the contract provided by the networks). They're really short which is good. Usually 30 minute shows you only have to sit through 2 30 second commercials. Hour shows I think are 4 30 second commercials.

Definitely beats the hell out of the amount of long ass commercials on regular tv.

You can check out http://hulu.com for free. Some of the content is only viewable by hulu+ members, but you can still check it out. Great quality content (a lot of stuff in HD).

i was about to say, xbox is working fine for me, been on netflix. When we going to get on that Homefront?
