When to add UVB/UVA lights?

I'm curious as to when I should start using extra lights to output UVB rays. I am 3 weeks into what will probably be a 9 week flowering period. I have three 36w uvb/uva bulbs, I have heard that its the last two weeks that it matters the most, also that you should have at least 100w of special lighting for every 1000w of your normal lighting. Can any one confirm these accusations or have any input in the matter. Thanks!

wow i wasnt gonna post in this thread, but because jack47 was such a dick i figured ill try bring the IQ of this thread up...


I dont believe is that whole only the last two weeks BS. think about it, your using uvb lights to increase trichrome production. so you believe that trics are the plants natural response to protect itself from uvb rays.
well if i was doing that shit id want them on through out its whole flower period, maybe not the first two weeks of 12/12 cos thats a transition period, and maybe not the next two because they are adapting to alot but after that id run it, not if you wanna not run it for the full 12 hours, you could run it for 4 hours at midday, so 4 hours of lights on uvb light off, 4 hours of lights on uvb light on, 4 hours of lights on uvb light off.

about the 10% spectral lighting, i havent a clue where the scientific data backs up that claim, id but them all in.

I WILL WARM YOU.
uvb is harmful that we do know, so dont enter your room with your uvb light on, put it on a switch you can turn on/off yourself, or avoid your grow room while its on.

adding uvb light may help but not in the way we all think judging by what i have read 'ED" says the higher uvb makes buds of better "quality" but in what way will this express? i wonder? please keep me posted and i hope you have space for a control/ know the strains your running so you can chart any pros/ cons. hope it goes well cant imagine it will hurt. i was thinking of adding back my halide the last two weeks but just cant justify the headache.

sorry I was just the kind of person I hate... anyway thanks for your input jagle... the info i got on the subject matter was from Ed Rosenthal and that's really all I have found without going so far into it. I do know the apparent dangers of this spectrum of light and have planned on an external on/off switch, but wasn't sure on the time periods to keep on/off so thanks for that, definitely good to know. Thanks again!

Here is a really good video I found on UVB light, its about 17 min long and he starts talking through UVB about 10 min into it... Check it out, it almost makes you want to get this spectrum on your crop right away...

How tall is it? pics can be deceiving. how many times did you top it? I know a nice plant when I see it...it remind me of mine. how long have you been vegging?

Mine is outdoor and is 6 feet all and 4 feet wide, toped and highly developed like that. but with nice sturdy branches

ya ive seen this before very good indeed. so ya buddy id use a uvb bulb and best of luck, funny how that joker has just taken over the thread roaring how wrong we all are and making himself look more of an ass, i cant wait till they invent a machine that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet, until then tho we just have to ignore people

OP I use 2 26 watt 10.0 uvb bulbs along with a 400 cmh and subject them to the uvb from sprout to harvest everytime the lights are on...seems to work swimmingly...hope it helps
